They released three studio albums, "Through Art We Are All Equals" on June 24, 2014, "Routine Breathing" on August 21, 2015 and "Beautiful Death" on February 16, 2018 with founding member and original lead vocalist Jonny Craig.
On January 24, 2019, the band announced that Jonny Craig was removed from the band citing his addictions. He was replaced by NBC's The Voice runner-up Matt McAndrew, with whom they released their fourth studio album, "To Better Days" on August 7, 2020. Prior to the album's release, on June 25, 2020, the band announced that it would be their final release under the name Slaves, stating that "As obstinate supporters of the BLM movement, we cannot continue to tie our music and our positive message to a word associated with such negative weight and hurt."
On October 15, 2021, the band announced that they had changed their name to Rain City and signed to independent record label Thriller Records. However, the band later opted to be known as Rain City Drive due to unforeseen circumstances and to avoid future problems.

When you had your first
So I try to change it
But it makes it worse
Don′t you know we're heading for another break
Before you let it burn, remember what′s at stake
I was hoping we could let the dust settle
So it's a witch hunt that you want
Won′t be happy ′til I'm face down in the mud
And it′s funny 'cause you′re madder than hell
Like you can't tell
I′m the one who's under your spell
So it's a witch hunt that you want
Won′t be happy ′til I'm face down in the mud
And it′s funny 'cause you′re madder than hell
Like you can't tell
I′m the one who's under your spell
I don't like to think of what I wouldn′t do
To stay the one who′s waking up with you
I'd tell a million lies and let my pride fall down
Then try to build myself back up when you′re not around
When you're not around
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
Won't be happy ′til I'm face down in the mud
And it's funny ′cause you′re madder than hell
Like you can't tell
I′m the one who's under your spell
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
Won't be happy ′til I'm face down in the mud
And it's funny ′cause you′re madder than hell
Like you can't tell
I′m the one who's under your spell
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
So it's a witch hunt that you want
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
But I'm the one who's under your spell
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
So it's a witch hunt that you want
But I′m the one who's under your spell
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
So it's a witch hunt that you want
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
But I'm the one who's under your spell
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
Won′t be happy 'til I′m face down in the mud
And it's funny ′cause you're madder than hell
Like you can′t tell
I'm the one who's under your spell
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
Won′t be happy 'til I′m face down in the mud
And it's funny ′cause you're madder than hell
Like you can′t tell
I'm the one who's under your spell
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
So it′s a witch hunt that you want
So it's a witch hunt that you want
But I′m the one who's under your spell
The lyrics to Rain City Drive's song "Witch Hunt" depict a tumultuous relationship characterized by manipulation and a power struggle. The singer acknowledges the importance of second chances but realizes that their efforts to change for the better only worsen the situation. The phrase "we're heading for another break" suggests that this is not the first time they have faced difficulties. The line "before you let it burn, remember what's at stake" implies a plea for the other person to consider the consequences before allowing everything to fall apart.
The singer expresses a hope that they can allow time for things to settle down, but their hopes are dashed when the other person starts searching for flaws or faults as if they were looking for a mark from the devil. This comparison adds a sense of intensity and desperation to the song. The repeated line "So it's a witch hunt that you want" suggests that the other person is actively seeking to blame the singer and make them suffer.
Despite the turmoil, the singer reveals a deep longing to remain with the person they are addressing. They confess that they would go to great lengths, including telling lies and letting their pride suffer, just to continue waking up next to the other person. However, it becomes clear that the relationship is one-sided, with the singer being under the spell or control of the other person.
Overall, "Witch Hunt" reflects the complexities and struggles of a relationship plagued by power dynamics and manipulation. It explores themes of sacrifice, trying to please someone at all costs, and the desire for things to improve despite the toxic nature of the partnership.
