High
Rainbirds Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

look at these
dry leaves
and crumbling blossoms
old beat books
stripped of the cover
i feel delighted
suddenly singing
with a voice
that is coming
from out of the blue
dark points in time
follow after
shy not shallow
high not hollow
a slightly off-beat
pounding heart

because it's
all over
i need not to take cover
nothing can break besides my soul - yeah
i got it under control - yeah

miles of tape in
cardboard boxes
millions of pages on
gains and losses
i feel spooky
suddenly speaking
with a voice
that is coming
from behind the shelf
locked up inside is
my happier self
shy not shallow
high not hollow
a slightly off-beat
pounding heart

because it's
all over
i need not to take cover
nothing can break besides my soul - yeah
i got it under control - yeah

bundled dreams and
dusty gems
imploring notes
that strangers send:
please me deeper
love me sweeter
hug me harder
never let me go - I am
shy not shallow
high not hollow
got a slightly off-beat
pounding heart

because it's
all over
i need not to take cover

nothing can break besides my soul - yeah
i got it under control - yeah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "High" by Rainbirds describe a feeling of excitement and empowerment that comes from rediscovering old books, memories, and experiences. The singer is surrounded by old, dry leaves and crumbling blossoms, but rather than feeling sad or nostalgic, they feel delighted and begin to sing with a voice that seems to come from nowhere. The line "dark points in time follow after" suggests that the singer is aware of the difficulties and challenges they have faced in the past, but their current mood is one of confidence and resilience.

The second stanza continues with an emphasis on the singer's past experiences, this time focusing on old tapes and books that are locked up in storage. Despite the spooky feeling that comes with exploring these archives, the singer finds their voice again and feels more connected to their "happier self." The final stanza introduces the idea of "bundled dreams and dusty gems," suggesting that the singer has uncovered something valuable and precious that was hidden away for a long time. The poetic phrases "please me deeper, love me sweeter, hug me harder, never let me go" convey a sense of longing that is contrasted with the singer's newfound confidence and self-assurance.

Overall, "High" is a song that celebrates the power of memory, self-discovery, and personal growth. The upbeat tempo and playful lyrics suggest that the singer is enjoying the process of rediscovering old treasures, even as they confront the challenges of their past.

The rotators are new to me, so I tried one in my front yard, and it seemed like it did a great job of spraying 6 to 15 feet. But it seem to miss anything 1 to 3 and 4 feet away. Almost like anything close is not gonna get any water. Have you found that to be true at all?

Waterpro

RVans adjust down to those distances way better. But MPs water perfectly if designed head to head.
