When I first met his momma
At the time I met his mother, she was only nineteen years old and unsure who the father was.

Joseph, who raised Jesus as his own son, is an example of a father figure who made a significant impact on the world.

A couple thousand years ago
Joseph lived many centuries ago, but his example still resonates today.

When he held a newborn baby he named Jesus
Joseph took on the responsibility of parenting Jesus, even though he was not his biological father.

He said he may not be blood of my blood
Joseph acknowledged that Jesus was not his biological son, but he loved and raised him as his own.

Still I'm gonna raise him up
Despite not being the biological father, Joseph committed to raising Jesus and providing him with the love and support he needed.

I will show him too
As his father figure, I will lead by example and show this child what it means to be a good son and father.

Thirty three years later
Many years later, after Jesus had grown into a man, his true father revealed himself.

When the son was in his grave
After Jesus had died and was buried, his father claimed him as his own.

Broken and abandoned by a world he came to save
Despite Jesus' great achievements and sacrifice, he was ultimately rejected and betrayed by many people.

His real dad said he's mine
Jesus' true father, God, claimed him as his own after his death and resurrection.

Blood of my blood
As his true father, God claimed Jesus as his own flesh and blood.

And I'm gonna raise him up
God raised Jesus up from the dead and gave him new life.

I'll provide for you
As his father, God will provide for Jesus and take care of him.

God will always be there for Jesus, guiding and supporting him throughout his life.
