I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet
To go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal ya, but I ain't done much healing
Hello, can you hear me?
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
There's such a difference between us
And a million miles
Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart
Anymore
Hello, how are you?
It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry
I hope that you're well
Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happened?
It's no secret that the both of us
Are running out of time
So hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart
Anymore, ooooohh
Anymore, ooooohh
Anymore, ooooohh
Anymore, anymore
Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart
Anymore
The song "Hello" by Raquel Castro is about a person who has been holding onto a past relationship and reaches out to their former lover to apologize and try to reconnect. The lyrics reflect the emotional turmoil the person is experiencing as they try to come to terms with the fact that their past actions may have hurt the person they still care for deeply.
The first verse opens with the singer addressing their former lover by saying "Hello, it's me," and asks if they would like to meet to go over everything. They acknowledge that time is supposed to heal, but they have not healed much. The second verse continues with a similar sentiment, as the singer reminisces about who they used to be and how they forgot what it felt like before the world fell at their feet. They also ask if their former lover ever left their town where nothing ever happened.
The chorus is the most recognizable part of the song, as the singer repeatedly says "Hello from the other side" and goes on to explain that they have tried to call their former lover to apologize thousands of times, but they never seem to be home. The singer continues to express their remorse for breaking their lover's heart, but acknowledges that it does not seem to hurt them anymore.
Overall, "Hello" is a powerful ballad about lost love, regret, and the desire to make amends. The haunting melody and heartfelt lyrics have resonated with listeners all over the world.
