As of 2007, Joey Bishop is the only male member of the Rat Pack who is still alive.
2) In 1984, RAT PACK singer/founder Matt Ratt was covering the vocal duties for Rich Kids on LSD, while singer Jason Sears was away on "medical leave". During this time Rich Kids on LSD was signed on to record for the now infamous"NARDCORE" album on Mystic Records. Just prior to recording, Jason returned from his leave of absense. So left with the dilema of an album to record, and suddenly no band, Matt was told to throw something together quickly and record for the album anyway. So after a few rehearsals with Chris Rest and Alpo D.(borrowed from Rich Kids on LSD) Dave Casillas from STALAG 13 and Mike Torres from NARTHEX STRUCTURE, RAT PACK was born! Although originaly only meant to be a recording project for the NARDCORE album, RAT PACK ended up doing three records for Mystic, 1985's self titled 7", 1987's "Ice Cream Acid and Cigarettes" 7" and 1990's self titled full length Lp. Through the years RAT PACK has gone through long periods of hibernation, with many line up changes...people that have played in and recorded with RAT PACK include current and former members of bands such as NOFX, SOCIAL DISTORTION, STALAG 13, ADOLESCENTS, D.I., SUGAR CULT, HOLLYWOOD HATE, FOO FIGHTERS, Rubber Neck, LAGWAGON, Rich Kids on LSD, NO USE FOR A NAME, and ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES.
Out of This World
Rat Pack Lyrics

When I'm looking at you,
I hear out of this world
The music that no mortal ever knew.
You're right out of a book,
The fairy tale I read when I was so high;
No armoured knight out of a book
After waiting so long for the right time,
After reaching so long for a star,
All at once from the long and lonely night time,
And despite time, here you are!
I'd fly out of this world
If you said we were through,
So let me fly out of this world
And spend the next eternity or two with you;
I'll spend the next eternity or two with you.
The lyrics to Rat Pack's song "Out of This World" describe the overwhelming feeling of being completely captivated by someone. The singer expresses how the person they are looking at is beyond ordinary, almost as if they are from another world. The mere sight of this person evokes indescribable emotions, like hearing otherworldly music that no mortal has ever heard before.
The lyrics compare this person to a character from a fairy tale or book, emphasizing their enchanting and magical qualities. The singer feels as if they have found their own version of a mythical Lorelei, a seductive siren who lured sailors with her beauty and song. The imagery used, such as an armored knight searching for an enchanted being, further illustrates the transcendent nature of their connection.
The lyrics also suggest that the singer has longed for this moment for a significant period of time. They have patiently waited for the right time and reached for stars, possibly alluding to ambitious dreams or aspirations. Despite the length of their lonely nights, the arrival of this person surpasses all expectations. It is as if time no longer matters because this person has finally arrived in their life.
The concluding lines of the song express the singer's willingness to do anything for this individual. They declare their readiness to fly out of this world if the person were to suggest that their relationship is over. The desire to spend not just one lifetime but the next eternity or two with this person demonstrates the depth of their affection and commitment.
Overall, "Out of This World" is a love song that conveys the profound impact someone can have on another person's life, transforming their existence into something extraordinary.
