Ravelyn is the rock music of pianist and songwriter Matthew Mason. A native of Houston and a musician since childhood, Matt recently took his years of experience as a classical musician and combined it with his love of rock and jazz to create the music of Ravelyn. Sophisticated harmony and driving piano form the foundation for the soaring melodies and classic grooves that are the sonic landscape of Ravelyn's first album, "The Sky and I".
Recorded and produced almost entirely at home by Erich Brown on guitar and synths, Matt on vocals and piano, and Erick Garcia on drums, "The Sky and I" is a collection of 11 songs that range from the quietly introspective "So Far Away" to the soaring soundscape of "Slipstream"-- and everything in between.

I walk around stores, picking things up and putting them in my cart and then walk back around the whole store and put everything back, so I feel ya on that. I have to find something that I LOVE or really wanted in order to pick anything up. Even from the thrift store, until I find the ONE sweater/book/chair I have been looking for, I won't buy anything, even if there's a few things I like and would wear/use
