St. Pete Florida
Ray Charles Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Down in St. Pete, Florida
I found my baby there
Ooh, St. Pete, St. Pete, Florida
I found my baby there

No one's ever loved me like my baby
Any place, anywhere
Baby, my baby, she keeps me satisfied
You know my baby, yes, my baby
She keeps me satisfied

She loves me day and night
Always by my side, by my side

Baby, oh, baby
Let me hear you call my name (oh, Ray)

Oh, baby, baby
Let me hear you call my name (ooh, ah, Ray)

Well, if you keep that up, pretty baby

Oh, well, you'll drive your Ray insane
Ooh, Lord

The original Tampa Bay Ray.

A solo voice like no other with accompaniment of a blues guitar or maybe even a piano. Definitely one of my favorite artists, one that I will always admire.

Ray Charles, and  many black musicians stayed at the Jackson House. It has been said, Hank Ballard, wrote the song, The Twist, at the Jackson House. Some people are trying to get the house restored. The house is close to the Train Station, in Tampa. Fl.
