Beyond the Sea
Ray Conniff And His Orchestra & Chorus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Somewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waiting for me
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailing

Somewhere beyond the sea
She's there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight to her arms I'd go sailing

It's far beyond a star
It's near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon

We'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing

I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon

We'll meet I know we'll meet
Beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing

Together we'll be just you and me
Beyond the sea

Pura vida.

You are absolutely right about the musical language. I'm sorry you can't read all the comments. I enclose one that I made in response to a comment and that clarifies something like the song that already existed before the second world war became famous during that time.
That song that dates back to World War II and was made known by French soldiers to the point that other countries came to believe it was the national anthem of France, has been one of my favorites in all the ways it has been interpreted. and it gives me the same feeling of tranquility. Thank you for your comment.
