Reamonn was a German rock and pop band that is well known all over Europe. They recorded six albums and disbandoned in 2010.
In 1998, Rea Garvey left his band The Reckless Pedestrians and home town of Tralee, Ireland to go to Germany with not a lot money and a demo CD in his pocket. He put an ad into local paper Stockacher Anzeiger stating, "Singer requires band for recording and live shows." Mike Gommeringer (Gomezz) saw this ad and accurately assumed it must have been Garvey, whose original band he had once seen play live. The twosome met up and subsequently recruited Uwe, Sebi and Phil. Their first gig was played on New Year's Eve 1998 in Stockach.
In order to secure a recording contract, they set up a showcase at Logo, a small club in Hamburg, in front of 16 representatives from various record labels in 1999. The band was quickly offered several contracts, settling on signing with Virgin Records Germany. As of 2006 they are now releasing their music through Universal Music.
Their best known songs are: Supergirl and Tonight(2006).
In 2011, Rea started his solo career and as of 2018, released 4 albums so far: Can't stand the silence, Pride, Prisma and Neon. Rea continues to work with national and international artists like Kool Savas, Jam & Spoon, Paul van Dyk or Mary J. Blige.
In the past, he recorded a new version of "All good things come to an end" with Nelly Furtado.
For several German movies he provided solo tracks even before Reamonn disbandoned.
He regularely appears at a coach of the German Version of "The Voice" or "The Voice Kids".
Rea married in 2002 and together with their child, they live in Berlin.
Before You Go
Rea Garvey Lyrics

We used to dream of
But no one lives there anymore
They were taken by the dream of a better life
On the 50th floor
Do you remember how we spoke
And all those things we said we'd do
Like the photos of the house that we dreamed of
All the colours faded out
I won't bow before you now
You're not a saint
I won't bow before you now
All the stories that you tell
Of your riches and your wealth
They don't make you a better man
Did you ever count the cost
Of the ones that you've lost
Making sense of what you'll never understand
I won't bow before you now
You're not a saint
I won't bow before you now
We believed all the words that they sold us
From the banker to the priest
Just one taste is all it takes to start that downward spiral
Now Jeckyl's hiding from the beast
I won't bow before you now
We're not the same
I won't bow before you now
All the stories that you tell
Of your riches and your wealth
They don't make you a better man
Did you ever count the cost
Of the ones that you've lost
Making sense of what you'll never understand
I won't bow before you now
We're not the same
I won't bow before you now
I will fight to the death
For the pride that I've left
I won't be a slave to your lies
And now time has stood still
For that house on the hill
And I've washed my hands of the devil that's inside
I won't bow before you now
You're not a saint
I won't bow before you now
We're not the same
I won't bow before you now
You're not a saint
I won't bow before you now
In "Bow Before You," Rea Garvey reflects on the promises of success and the greed that often accompanies it. He describes a house on a hill that he and a friend dreamed of owning, but no one lives there anymore. The dream was shattered by the promise of a luxurious life on the 50th floor, which led to empty and unfulfilling lives.
Garvey seems to be warning against the temptations of material success and the illusions of wealth. He doesn't bow before those who have gained wealth through dishonest means, as they are not saints. He recounts the stories of those who've lost everything and didn't stop to consider the cost of their actions. Garvey will fight to the death to maintain his sense of pride, and he dissociates himself from any immoral actions of others.
The tone of the song conveys a sense of disillusionment and disenchantment with the promise of wealth and material success. Garvey seems to be urging listeners not to be swayed by the promises of riches but to build a life that has true meaning and value.
