While at first this anime comes across as a regular harem/slice of life, I got a lot of good messages from the show that I definitely could've used sooner in my life. People might see MC as an idiot for not dating masochist Senpai when she'll do anything he wants, but she questions his morality; yes he can have an attractive girl do anything he wants, but there's no love involved and in the long term their relationship will be one of lust and not love. Yeah he could fall in love with her and maybe she does love him, but his morals prevent him from doing so at this current time.

We find out that his best friend is a huge lolicon, and it just so happens his loli senpai is in love with him. Win/Win right? Not really, best friend knows that his lolicon fetish isn't healthy and wants to try to rid himself of it. While later he does end up dating loli senpai, it's not because she's a loli (though that certainly helps here case), it's because he loves her as a person.

The anime itself does a good job explaining Kouhai's reasoning for being a sadist towards MC, she loses her grandmother and feels betrayed because she loved her very much. So when MC begins to show interest in her and become her friend, she doesn't want anything to do with him in fear of losing someone she cares about. Eventually she be extremely attached to MC to an unhealthy degree and wants him as her slave, most likely in fear that someone else will take him from her. Yes there's a chance she legitimately loves him but the way she presents herself she just wants to enslave him so she'll never feel alone.

Little sister is the typical trope when it comes to siblings in shows like this, it's been played to death but I'll forgive her for being so adorable. But hey, maybe I'm thinking way too deeply about an Ecchi I binged in one night and there's no deeper meaning in the story.

This is such a great little show - the animation style is different and gorgeous to look at. The story is funny and the last episode is very sweet (and quite serious). It’s kinda sad that we won’t get another season, but then it’d a very enclosed story that doesn’t need expanding on, it’s wrapped up perfectly.

Binge watched this whole series yesterday. I had a GREAT laugh. A true romantic comedy, with a few moments I had to go back to rewatch to get the laughs out. I did watch it English dub (fight me) and there is another layer of comedy when you get to hear Bakugo’s voice out of Protagonist-kun. If you are not a prude, watch this, you will have fun.

@darkecofreak23 Hypothesis 1: Since those shows don't have a good plot, they need another good attention grabber. Then again "good" is pretty much just the taste of people. I feel like most openings from that genre have some kinda pop music ring to them, catchy, easily enjoyable, but not extraordinary. Add to it some sentimental thoughts and memories of happy-go-lucky jokes, and you have your "good" feeling while listening to it.
Hypothesis 2: You just haven't had your fill of the same genre / media yet. Eventually you will get bored by this and strive forward to find more unique openings and anime, and suddenly this here can't even compare anymore.
Hypothesis 3: You aren't too picky about it. Which would be a good thing.

The only reason why it has good openings and endings is because it's animated by A1-Pictures which is part of Aniplex(Ufotable is also part of it). Anime looks like this because A1-Pictures knows that fanservice sells, so they add "a bit" of it themselves. Well, it's like that with many others LN adaptations too and it's sad...
