1. Re… Read Full Bio ↴There are a number of artists working under the name of Recon:
1. Recon is a straight-edge, mo$hcore band from Albany, NY, originally formed in 2003. In 2006, they released one EP on Closed Casket Activities entitled Graves. Now signed onto Rise Records, and after a number of line-up changes, the band recorded and released their debut full-length, "Welcome to Viper City," on 7/8/2008.
2. Recon was also London based sound artist, Chris Coode, also known as Motion, who has released numerous works on 12k. Recon is his heavier sample driven homage to those DJ edit tracks found on white label house and techno 12"s of the early ninties, which were meant to be used as mixing blocks for DJs.
3. Recon is a Christian heavy metal band out of California who formed in 1987. Vocalist Vett Robers originally came from a band titled Seventh Thunder. His vocal style is often compared to Geoff Tate (Queensryche) and Behind Enemy Lines totally sounds like Queensryche on overdrive (playing speed metal similar to their Warning release) with Christian lyrics. Lead guitarist George Rene Ochoa really shreds on Behind Enemy Lines, and he is backed by Eddie Starline (Rhythm Guitar), Mike Grato (Bass) and John Christianson (drums). Recon first appeared on a compilation entitled California Metal 2, later recording Behind Enemy Lines. But around the same time, due to internal problems with the band, Ochoa had decided to join Deliverance (another Christian metal band) leaving Recon behind.
Behind Enemy Lines and Recon were never able to reach their full potential, because once the CD was released the band had already disbanded. The CD reached minimal success and it was later reissued in 2001 by Magdalene/M8 records with a few bonus tracks. 'Alive', 'Behind Enemy Lines' and 'Take Us Away' are all exceptional tracks from Behind Enemy Lines. Recon did reform to release a live album in 2001, eleven years after Behind Enemy Lines, and they are possibly working on a new release which will be called The Chosen Few.

Do you remember my face
Do you remember what you did to me
You left me to rot
You left me for dead
Everything you said to me
You lied to me
Just to get what you wanted
You left me for dead
You left me to suffer
Now you get what you deserve
Do you remember my face
Do you remember what you did
Everything you said to me
You said in vain
You lied to me
Just to get what you wanted
You left me for dead
You left me to suffer
The lyrics of the song "Thirteen" by Recon draw upon themes of betrayal, loss, and suffering. The opening lines speak of how everything the person who betrayed the singer said was in vain and that they lied just to exploit the singer for their own gain. This betrayal left the singer feeling abandoned and alone, leading them to suffer inside. This sense of abandonment is further emphasized in the lines "you left me for dead, you left me to suffer."
The repeated question "do you remember my face, do you remember what you did to me" highlights the wounds caused by the betrayal of a trusted person in the singer's life. The person who hurt the singer is called out for leaving them to rot and the chorus shows the singer speaking back to the one who hurt them. The singer believes that the person will get what they deserve, as the tables have turned.
The emotional intensity of the lyrics is conveyed powerfully through the use of short, sharp lines and repetition. The repeated lines of the chorus and the use of the second person point of view make the song feel direct and personal. From beginning to end, Recon's "Thirteen" is a powerful testament to the destructive effects of betrayal and the human desire for revenge.
