Heartbeat
Red 7 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I can hear your heartbeat, knocking on the window,
I can felt the weight deep down below.

I can hear whispers,
Coming from the shadows,
Touch me like hot ten on my soul.
I can hear your tip toe,
I can hear the door close, anticipation in me growes.

Sometimes I,
Sometimes I,
Sometimes I, understand it very clearly.
Heartbeat, heartbeat, listen to my heartbeat [Repeat: x4]

I can hear your tip toe,
I can hear the door close, anticipation in me growes.
I can feel your dark eyes, touch me in the darkness,
Understand the message never sent.

Sometimes I,
Sometimes I,
Sometimes I, understand it very clearly.
Heartbeat, heartbeat, listen to my heartbeat [Repeat: x4]

Listen to my heartbeat. [Repeat until fade]

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Red 7's song Heartbeat are about the singer's intense longing and anticipation for someone they deeply desire. The first verse describes how the singer can feel the weight of their longing deep inside themselves and can hear the object of their affections knocking on the window and whispering from the shadows. The second verse emphasizes the singer's heightened sense of anticipation, as they hear the sound of the person's footsteps and the closing of a door. In the chorus, the singer repeats the phrase "sometimes I understand it very clearly," indicating that there are moments when their feelings are overwhelming and all-consuming. The song ends with the repeated plea to "listen to my heartbeat," as if to say that the singer's feelings are so powerful that even their physical body is responding to them.

That's right!

Red Dragon Book (1981)
Silence Of The Lambs Book ( 1988)

And while I AM a fan of "chills and spills", that last scene in HANNIBAL would have made STEPHEN KING throw up.

It did it to me. A long day, capped off by eating too much junk and too little sleep, AND the invisible onset of the flu , TRIGGERED by that scene, made me hurl across the FIVE ROWS in front of me about six or seven times.
For NORMAL people, it would have been like a movie-just "cough-cough" and soon, it's over.

For ME though, it was like a cum-shot in a porn video. As soon as I thought it was over, it wasn't, and I threw up again.

And even though I wasn't blowing SOLID chunks, the acid contained within my puke, would have been enough to make ALIENS flee from me at a very fast rate of speed, for two reasons.

One: It fucking STUNK!
Two: The acid content, of same, might have been enough, to eat through walls.

It IS criminally underated and that is too bad.

Also too bad that Hollywood decided THIS masterpiece had to be remade as RED DRAGON, just so Anthony Hopkins could round out the trilogy as Hannibal Lecter.

As I've stated MANY times before, the reason why Brian Cox was SOOOO good as Hannibal Lecter was, on the SURFACE, he appeared to be a jovial, fun-loving sort, but WE and Will all know the truth, and when Will bolts out of the SuperMax Prison after talking with Lecter and then bends over a guard rail, with the vegetation on the path side blurring, then gradually coming back into focus, we realize two things.

One: Graham is NOT invulnerable but he IS brave. He WILL see this through, even though Hannibal came VERY close to ending his life.

Two: Lecter WILL play with your head like no other, just as he's "played" with all of his previous victims.

GODAM! It has been 31 years since this movie appeared and it STILL can't be matched by ANYTHING ELSE OUT THERE!

Michael Mann is no dummy. He understands story and everything that makes a movie or TV show GREAT!

Manhunter and Miami Vice. Truly 80s masterpieces.

@ClareBeith-nn3qk

Oh yes!

@m1lst3r

Too bad Manhunter suffered because of that.

Plus Miami Vice is only stuck to that time period making it dated show.

@johnnamyreve9391

It´s a shame this Group could not produce more Songs, the talent was clearly there. I cannot thunk of a better song to end the Masterpiece "Manhunter" from 1986 or Miami Vice.
