On April 21, 2020, SM Entertainment revealed that Irene and Seulgi would form Red Velvet's first sub-unit. On the same day, it was announced that the unit would release their first extended play in June. The release of the mini album was later postponed on the grounds that it needed additional production on the album, in order to achieve a higher quality of music.
On July 6, Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi released their debut extended play Monster, which contained six tracks, including the singles "Monster" and "Naughty". With the release of their debut album, they became the best selling female sub-unit in South Korea in 2020. The duo made their debut performance on July 10 on Music Bank.

In a vlive special Seulgi said that the title of the song (Feel Good) actually contrasts to the lyrics which actually had a message of taking a revenge to someone. That's why the song is too bitter and so sadist lol so kewl. Seulgi also mentioned that as the person took the revenge it made him/her realize that it was wrong and in the end it doesn't felt good. That's why you can see at the last part, the second voice says "The tears are dripping" and "Please stop me"

Maybe there's a theory cause when Irene says "throwing away the scars like the doll" in monster Irene is the one who gives Seulgi the doll near her bed so maybe Seulgi is trapped in the doll and feels hurt from all the revenge game ¿
