Founded by guitarist / songwriter Nick Van Dyk, Redemption features legendary vocalist Ray Alder of Fates Warning, guitarist Bernie Versailles of Agent Steel, bassist Sean Andrews and drummer Chris Quirartewho is also in the progressive metal band Prymary.
After releasing their eponymously titled debut release in 2003 on Sensory Records (a release which featured guest appearances from Mark Zonder of Fates Warning and Jason Rullo and Michael Romeo from Symphony X), van Dyk made a significang statement with 2005's follow-up, The Fullness of Time, the first CD featuring Alder as a full-time band member and featuring the production of Tommy Newton (UFO, Conception, Helloween). Garnering acclaim from the press and the public, The Fullness of Time cemented Redemption position as an up-and-coming force in progressive metal.
In 2006 the band signed a multi-album worldwide deal with Inside Out Music, and in 2007 released its third CD, The Origins of Ruin, again produced by Newton. After headlining the Headway Festival in Amsterdam, the band embarked on a five-week North American tour as direct support for Dream Theater. Playing for thousands of fans a night and establishing a reputation as a compelling live act in addition to a top studio group, Redemption's momentum is building.

2) Redemption redeems the Goth Rock tradition started by The Sisters of Mercy and Mission UK. Formed in 1996 and surviving many lineup changes, Redemption is driven by the vision of front man and guitarist Miah. Stronger Than Death
Redemption Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I can take whatever comes, I will not bow
This is just another battle in the war
And I will scratch and claw with everything I have
And I won't pay the ferryman -- I won't be taken to the other side
And you have to know (your threats have all become so hollow)
I am so much stronger now (like strawmen falling apart)
And I have the will (birth has always been a terminal condition)
(I am steeled, spirit strong with resolve in my heart)
Pull the marrow from my bones and then destroy it
I can will myself to overcome this all
Give me everything you've got, I defy you
I will break you and will laugh as you go down
And I will not gently to the night
Death where is your victory
I've struck you down
The truth for all to see
You tried to kill me…but I've killed you
And you have to know
I am so much stronger now
And I have the will
To fight until the final beat of blood
And you have to know
I am so much stronger now
And I have the will
To fight until I've crushed you
I am steeled; spirit strong
And I will crush you
In "Stronger Than Death," Redemption leads us through a battle with death, embodied by the "poison" in the needle, as a metaphor for cancer or any fatal disease. The singer is standing up to death and refusing to bow down. He refuses to "pay the ferryman" and go to the other side without a fight. The lyrics convey a message of strength, telling us that he is determined to fight until the last beat of his heart. The message is clear: he has the willpower to fight and defeat death, no matter what obstacles he faces.
The refrain, "I am so much stronger now," is a powerful statement. It suggests that the singer has already faced and possibly defeated death before, and that he is now even more powerful as a result. The imagery of "strawmen falling apart" further suggests that any threat is weak against this resilience. The song also acknowledges the inevitability of death, with the line "birth has always been a terminal condition," but it doesn't limit the singer's resolve to fight.
The lyrics of "Stronger Than Death" speak of courage, perseverance, and triumph in the face of adversity. They inspire us to be strong and never give up, no matter how difficult the fight may be.
