Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. His musical style has remained very consistent, rarely deviating from a combination of Redman's unique braggadocious wit and hard, P-funk-influenced beats. In addition to releasing albums under his own name, he is part of the group Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon) with whom he released the 1998 album El Nino, and also has formed a close partnership with labelmate Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan) with whom he released the 1999 album Blackout!. The long-awaited follow-up, Blackout! 2, apeared in 2009.
He has also collaborated extensively, both with hip-hop artists and with artists from other genres; the long list of artists and groups he has worked with includes Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, The Offspring, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Gorillaz, D'Angelo, Me'shell Ndegeocello, 2Pac, Jodeci, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, KRS One and IAM.
In 2001 Redman co-starred with Method Man in the stoner comedy film How High, which featured the pair playing two marijuana-addled students attempting to survive at Harvard. Method Man and Redman also appear in the Def Jam Vendetta video game series, often as Tag Team partners, and briefly had their own television sitcom, Method & Red, on Fox during the 2004-2005 season.
Redman is also featured on the video game "True Crime: New York City", in which the central character interacts with an undercover street cop based upon the rap star, who also provides the voice for him.

Chill and relax, I'm back in effect
Yes I'm Erick Sermon, with a brand new cassette
Deaths turned spoiled, rich like top soil
Still loyal still the MC grand royal
I'm still dope I'm still no joke
I'm don't care, I'm still wild like tone loc
Fat herringbone, with no medallion
Hello, I still got the same funk flow and yo
I still get busy like Arsenio
When I rock I need all the girls with me
So I can be their baby tonight, like Whitney
Houston, producin' a style that make a smile
To make you say, "ooh child!"
Bust the steps, the picture, frame it
Hall of fame it hang it so no one can claim it
I rule from my style from the boondocks
Now my shit pumps in the boombox
Yo red, my ears are ringin'
Hey, Erick Sermon!
Uh, rock the mic honey I love the way you sway
Plus you have the crotch to drive me crazy
I'm replyin' rude
I'm ill, smooth as johnny gill
Gill, my my my, I pack steel
So back off softie, here's a ice cream cone
Put down the microphone
Thank you, right about now I'm through
I'm ghost like Casper see you!
When I come around homeboy watch yo nuggets
Funky fresh in the flesh, the superman grand slams a new twist
Scoop this, Redman is milk like two tits
I stay, freshly dipped with the nine
And a clip on my hip, money grip, no bullshit
I tic-tac on small cracks I'm all that to fall black
My jaw snap with raps so umm, get the balls jack
Flavor like flav, plus I'm well paid
Own a maid with a plaid, mack daddy of the decade
At a slow rate, I sparkly like Colgate
My dick's name machete, I stab much ho-cake
I don't have a car, but own a pair of Reeboks
It gets me where I'm going, until my damn feet stops
On and on like a switch, bust the mix
Jam, oops! I turn up the pitch
To make me boom to zoom with the tune
To make the cow jump back over the moon
It's Reggie Noble, Yeah, I'm feelin' kinda so-so
I dog you like toto, make Rudolph nose glow
Funk out of site with the type of hype
To make you say umm, a dy-no-mite!
Chiller, chiller than the ice on vanilla
I kill more kills than the quills from tequila
I'm down with the green eyed brother named Erick
Charlie how you rate this? (hmm, jam like Bo Derek)
I'm deeper than a valley, peace to cool v and sally
PMD, my man solo, and I'm audi
When I come around homeboy watch yo nuggets
The lyrics to Redman's song "Watch Yo Nuggets" are filled with playful rhymes and boasts of hip-hop artistry, with a focus on the rapper's skills, style, and swagger. The chorus serves as a playful warning to other rappers, suggesting that Redman is a force to be reckoned with and that they should watch out or risk being dethroned. The first verse sees Erick Sermon stepping in to join the fun, adding his own rhymes and flaunting his own status as a powerful MC. The second verse returns to Redman's bold boasts, with the rapper describing himself as "funky fresh," "milk like two tits," and "well paid."
Throughout the song, Redman and Sermon deliver their verses with a blend of bravado and humor, emphasizing the fun and creativity of hip-hop culture. The references to Whitney Houston, Arsenio Hall, and Johnny Gill add a touch of nostalgia and pop culture awareness, while the rapid-fire wordplay and clever puns keep the energy high.
Overall, "Watch Yo Nuggets" is a fun and lighthearted track that celebrates the joy and creativity of hip-hop, while also serving as a showcase for Redman and Sermon's skills as MCs.
