Day in the Life
Reese Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I was a stranger in the city
Out of town were the people I knew
I had that feeling of self-pity
What to do? What to do? What to do?
The outlook was decidedly blue
But as I walked through the foggy streets alone
It turned out to be the luckiest day I've known
A foggy day in London Town
Had me low and had me down
I viewed the morning with alarm
The British Museum had lost it's charm
How long, I wondered, could this thing last?
But the age of miracles hadn't passed,
For, suddenly, I saw you there

And through foggy London Town
The sun was shining everywhere.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Day In The Life by Reese's depict a person feeling lost and self-pitying in a strange city, leading them to question what they can do to lift their spirits. The outlook is bleak, and the person feels like they have nowhere to turn. However, as they continue to walk through the foggy streets, something magical happens. This is conveyed through the visuals of the British Museum losing its charm, and the morning being viewed with alarm. Just when the person was starting to lose hope, they see someone they know or care about, and everything changes for the better. Suddenly, the sun is shining everywhere, and it turns out to be the luckiest day they've ever had.

The metaphor of the foggy streets and the sun breaking through represent the ups and downs of life. Just when things seem to be at their darkest, there is always a chance for something good to happen. The lyrics also express the idea that sometimes it takes being lost or out of your element to find something incredible.

She a little too cocky!!.... practice a little humbleness or get humbled the hard way!!

Chucky Black

That's the Baltimore in her

Shadowryder100

She's right about the one and done thing. It would be good for the WNBA but bad for the players that might jump to the league without the talent or degree to fall back on.

GloFlare

@Lonnie Boyd He's talking about the WNBA. Reese is going to far more recognition in college than playing professionally, that's the difference between mens and womens basketball

Lighting Bolt81

No it would be bad, plus they donโ€™t make what nba does

Lonnie Boyd

@Jay She ain't need to stay 4 years at all.... In literally no other sport in no other country around the world is there these bullshit restrictions. Its fine that the school wants them for the team... fine... but why would the NBA conspire with them to force the issue? NBA and NCAA... two different organisations. smh

Jay

they need to stay 4 years because going to the WNBA isnโ€™t like a high like the nba college games get more attention and 100x more attendance they should wanna stay 4 years
