Hollywood
Remix Artist Collective feat. Penguin Prison Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm not telling you again what you need
It's just a slap around
To make everything stoṗ and cure the fall
When you come back down
I'm not everything you want

I'm just a tease
Maybe a matter of touch
You could tell me what you want, I'll give it to you
Maybe you think to much

Cause you're Hollywood, you never should
We never talk anymore
With your high heels on
You kill the sun, I'm not your friend anymore

I'm so sick and tired of everyone telling you what you want
I could never keep track who's gonna come
When you start waving your magic wand
And you seem to forget everything that you said
Before you had it written for you
There's too much going on that you need to belong to
It's the only thing you know how to do

Cause you're Hollywood, another world
You made it all on your own
With your high heels on
You kill the sun, I'm not your friend anymore

You went to Hollywood to make it

Hollywood, you never should
We never talk anymore
With your high heels on
You kill the sun, I'm not your friend anymore
Not your friend anymore,
Not your friend anymore,
Not your friend anymore,

Not your friend anymore,

Not your friend anymore,
Not your friend anymore,

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Remix Artist Collective feat. Penguin Prison's song Hollywood seem to be commenting on the idea of fame and success being the ultimate goal, and the sacrifices people make to achieve it. The song seems to be directed towards someone who has achieved success and fame, but has lost sight of who they are and the relationships they have with others. The vocalist sings about how the subject of the song has forgotten everything they said before their success and how they've become consumed by belonging to a world that they may not even fully understand. The lyrics "Cause you're Hollywood, you never should" seems to be a criticism towards the subject for losing themselves in the fame and success they've achieved.

The lyrics also seem to explore the concept of materialism and how people can become obsessed with it. The line "With your high heels on, you kill the sun" could be interpreted as the subject of the song trying to outshine everything around them, including the sun. This could be seen as a commentary on the idea that people in Hollywood prioritize material wealth and status above everything else.

Overall, the lyrics seem to be a warning against becoming too consumed by success and fame and losing sight of what really matters in life.

I'm starting to love RAC remixes and I'm in the perfect mood for this. Thank you RAC and Majestic Casual!

@caponepalone7266

This was the song that made Majestic Casual gain a little bit of fame, being the only song on their channel in 2012 that made it to 500k views.

I used to sing the chorus to my best friend when he did something silly.
He died last month in a car crash. You have no idea how sad I am.
