On August 1st, 2017, REOL announced that they would split, calling it a "developmental breakup". On October 11th, they released their last work as a group, Endless EP. REOL performed together as a group for the last time and disbanded on October 22nd, 2017.
On January 9th, 2018, having teased an announcement four days prior, singer Reol announced that she would continue under the name Reol as a solo singer-songwriter signed to the CONNECTONE label, also announcing a mini-album entitled 虚構集 (Kyokōshū) for release in March 2018. The same day, she publicly released a track from the album, 平面鏡 (Heimenkyō), that she said would indicate Reol's future direction. Heimenkyō was arranged by GigaP.
Reol announced she had recorded a song for HAL Technical School's commercial entitled サイサキ (Saisaki) on March 30th, and released the full track on various platforms on May 16th. Saisaki was again arranged by GigaP.
On October 15, 2018, Reol released a new major album as her solo act, 事実上 (Jijitsujō). GigaP arranged many of the tracks on this album.

The lyrics to Reol's song SAIREN convey a sense of frustration and determination in the face of adversity. The singer expresses a longing for a connection with someone that goes beyond words and gestures, as these can be burdensome and unnecessary. The singer acknowledges their own mediocrity and inability to excel even in simple things, juxtaposed with the pain they have acquired despite not being able to use any deadly techniques. They feel tested, exhausted from caring too much, and tired of wasting their emotions. They are fed up with repetitive errors, experiencing alternating feelings of despair and hope, but unable to become a genius. However, they decide to create talent where there is none, to shake and discard conventional sensibilities, in order to keep fighting even in the face of a bleak future. They express their unwavering love for someone, asserting that they are the one who won't change. The longing for the vibrant blue of summer next to them, watching a baseball game through a fence, drives them. The singer chooses the same weapon as others and witnesses the fools who realize their mistakes through love alone. Still, they can't help but beg for another chance. They experience both despair and hope, constantly flipping between the two, because they have nothing to lose. They decide to discard their useless pride, remove the label of inferiority, and endure the frustration. They are warned to end a frustrating tomorrow if it means ending it thoroughly. The sound of a siren in the distance signifies urgency, urging them to make a decision and commit themselves completely. They continue to strive for talent where there is none, shaking and discarding conventional sensibilities. Even if the future seems daunting, they can still fight because the other person is there. They are instructed to create talent where there is none, kicking away everything that is nothing, and embracing the impermanence and contradictions in order to stand up once more even in a dire tomorrow. Because many people still complain about Reol's "new music style", this is a message to anyone who still wonders why her music now sounds so different than before:
REOL was a band with three members: Reol, Giga and Okiku. While Reol obviously was the singer in all songs, Giga made almost all songs for the band, and Okiku was the designer and director for music videos. Last year, after their four-track EP they broke up, because they felt like they didn't develop any further. Okiku also said in interviews that she felt like she held Reol and Giga back (They're still friends btw). And this is the situation now: Reol's music is entirely produced and composed by herself under her normal name 'Reol', not in capital letters. That's why it sounds different and it also feels different, as Giga is only (rarely) involved in the arrangements of songs but not the composition part anymore. The music videos also don't really look the same, as it isn't Okiku anymore who does these for Reol. So her mini album at the beginning of this year and also the full album coming on october this year are only from Reol.
