But eventually it was used against consenting adults especially those with interracial relationships or same sex relationships, traveling across state lines.That’s why it was amended several times over the years. It was amended 3 times during the Clinton Administration. The last time during his administration it was amended in 1998 to strengthen the laws protecting children: H.R. -3494 Protection of Children from Sexual Predators Act of 1998. Title III : Sexual Abuse Prevention - DOUBLES the maximum term of imprisonment for abusive sexual contact with children 12 years or younger. Justice Ruth Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court by Bill Clinton in 1993. Prior to these amendments, Blacks, and other minorities were prosecuted for marrying or sleeping with Whites. And Homosexual intercourse was treated as sodomy and against the law, even between consenting adults. Also prior to this amendment pedophiles were not punished severely enough for violating young children. I was watching reading a post this morning where a woman commented that she endured after her mother died and after she was fired from a job she had for 14 years. "We are soldiers" came to my mind. I googled it and found this video. This brings back so many memories. So many memories, and I totally agree with Carolyn G. These are the kinds of song that sustained us, held us up. I've been to First AME off Adams in LA, and even the children's choir had everyone up in their feet with hands up praising God. It was amazing. I thanked my student and her parents for the invitation. If your church choir doesn't get you up on your feet in praise, then you may be at the wrong church. I agree!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😊

These are the songs I remember going to church with my grandmother and singing in the church choir this hits home in more ways than one! these songs help keep the memories alive, even though my mom and grandma and grandpas are gone I still remember the teachings and the stories- the morals they instilled I still live by today..times may have changed but kindness, decency and morals never go out of style.

me personally as a former member of corner stone institutional Baptist Church, we used to march into this song all the time. We also did we are on our way reverend had us in the Southern California community choir, and when we got to church it wasn’t no talking or chatting to anyone, we had to go straight in the changing room to change into a choir robes. and then before service we would pray. Those were the good cornerstone days especially off of Slauson and western. reverend had us especially Johnny pearl Knox, Curley Harris, Richard Smith, and Herman Ludlow we were all in the Southern California community choir.
