I have taken this course already as I am a patreon. It may be the best guitar/music course I have ever taken. It’s incredible.
The range from absolute simplicity to deep complexity is bridged beautifully so that you don’t feel overwhelmed or unprepared as it gets more difficult.

As always Jake is one of the greatest teachers in the world at anything, definitely the best guitar teacher around.
I love the way he breaks things down, into the smallest possible step by step, so that you’re even learning things that you thought you already knew and end up feeling a real sense of mastery over the whole subject, especially when, because of the strong foundation he built brick by brick, you get to the difficult levels and it’s manageable and not that difficult or intimidating.

And the fact that it’s pay what you can...! I mean... come on!! Unbelievable. I paid 25$ - an incredible deal! Im so appreciative of the course that I plan to donate more when I can down the line so that I’ll slowly end up paying more for it than that but it’s definitely worth hundreds of dollars.

I hope that Jake continues to make more and more courses. I can think of so many that would be amazing. A course in harmony and chord theory, melody composition, fingerpicking guitar, lead soloing and improvising, sound engineering and music production etc, etc. I would pay 150$ for any and all of these courses easy.

Thanks for putting all the hard work. May you be blessed in kind and find goodness every where you look.

I've been playing guitar for about six years now... and I like to think I'm getting pretty good. I've spent thousands of hours practicing and learning songs, scales, lead progressions, theory, modes, etc. I can play just about anything.

~~~~~~~~
I sound nothing like a professional musician.
~~~~~~~~

I came to that realization upon listening to my own recordings. Why is it that after all this time, all this effort, that some jerk playing four chords at open mic still sounds better than me?!

One word: rhythm.

I didn't realize this was the missing piece until I saw your "I'm making a rhyme course" video a couple months ago. Instantly I knew I needed this course! I've been working through the first few lessons and already feel an improvement. Deliberate focus on my (lack of) rhythm is what I really need at this stage in my musical journey.

THANK YOU.

Although I think I'm pretty good at songwriting, having a large reprotoir of strumming patterns to work with has never really been my strongest suit. Furthermore, I'm an incredibly stiff player, and have been for my entire life (with music but also anything else that requires coordination) - I can perform and keep count of extremely exotic time signatures, but the rhythmic patterns I have for each of them are smallish. And while I think I've mostly been able to work through my limitations and sound pretty great in spite of them...I'd still like to do even better!

Unfortunately, I've tried watching some other videos online so as to expand my strumming abilities, but... I can't say that they helped me very much. I think I'm just like an old dog who has about 7 patterns and my mind is trying to shut out new tricks, but...I want to get out of that mindset.

With that in mind, I've decided to give your course a go. It seems like what you're offering here has A LOT of content - certainly far more than the usual 10-20 min vaguely subpar strumming YouTube vids I've watched before. As such, I think that your course will probably provide me with a tremendous opportunity to hopefully improve.

Plus, as a longtime fan of your channel and content, I feel certain that you would be a great teacher. I can't help but to think that if there's anyone online who might be able to ease me out of my rhythmic comfort zone, it would probably be you.

I can't wait to dive in. And thank you for putting in the effort to make the course to begin with, and making it available to everyone.

Agreed 100%. Not the teacher we deserve, but the teacher we need. This dude's heart is in the right place and it shows, such generosity won't go unrewarded, that's for sure.

Thanks a million Jake, you rock!

You can measure someone's insight by how generous they are with sharing it. Jake's is amazing.

I really appreciate that you still allow access to people with limited funds. It reminds me of the concept Sam Harris is running. I really wonder how the honor system works out in the long run. Anyhow, thanks as always Jake. I have already learned so much from your videos. Your channel is one of the first things I would recommend someone looking for some solid songwriting inspiration and advice.

First time I saw name-your-own-price was Radiohead.... Saw Sam Harris doing it lately and honestly I think it's the right way to go. Everyone wins a little bit, right?

@Signals Music Studio Hey Jake, Firstly thanks so much for the effort you put in to helping people learn music. Its really valiant.
If I could just say, I think it would be really handy to have a way to pay for the course after completion. A lot of people might not have money to pay at first but could afford it by the time they finish for whatever circumstance. Or maybe people dont want to pay for something up front that they're aren't entirely sure is for them... My problem with the Sam Harris model was I signed up when I didn't have money but had no way to pay a few months later when I did have enough (and genuinely wanted to), without waiting for the entire year subscription to finish. Maybe a follow up email could be good or a link at the end of the course prompting again? I mean you dont want to pressure some who actually cant afford it, but some people genuinely would want to pay after the fact when they can, and way to be able to would be awesome.
Food for thought.
