After stewing on this for a bit I feel there's a kind of inconsistency within the Quran. It seems at some points within the book this atomistic understanding is necessary.
However, considering the issue of nominalism, the Quran seems to try and cling to multiple schools of philosophy:
2:31 And He taught Adam the names, all of them; then he presented them to the angels, and said, "Tell Me the names of these, if you are sincere." (2:31)
He said, "O Adam, tell them their names." And when he told them their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the earth, and that I know what you reveal and what you conceal?" (2:33)
It makes no sense that this atomistic attitude would allow for the naming of animal kind. There's only clumps of atoms all together. No dogness, cowness, or whatever.

Greetings from a Greek Orthodox. These videos are so fascinating to someone like me who knows for a fact that Islam was created to legitimize the military expansion of the Arabs, and their conquering of civilizations that were immensely superior to them. The Arabs felt they need to counter Christian [East Roman] Theology, with something of their own, and now we have to suffer while listening their tripe.
I am the proud owner of a book titled "God Logos and Human Logos", by Monk Chrysostom Dionysiates. [ΘΕΟΣ ΛΟΓΟΣ και ΑΝΘΡΩΠΙΝΟΣ ΛΟΓΟΣ, Χρυσοστόμου Μοναχού Διονυσιάτου].
I've read al-Ghazali, and compared to Chrysostom, al-Ghazali seems daft.

btw Muslims (especially Asharis/Maturidis) this is a very good crash course where you get to learn what your religion teaches. also we are still waiting for any one of you to try to refute what Lewis' presented as objections against Atomism, because i think he decimated your position.
