Falling Star

When the weight is a matter of the heart
Will you hold out for dear life
Without hope of rescuing
Well, sometimes it seems
You're fighting to simply go on
And as memories flood endlessly
The heart-breaking distance so far below
And you question the pain of letting go
While scars and secrets keep on surfacing
And sometimes it seems
Your fighting to simply go on
And as memories flood endlessly
You can't always be strong, no
And I don't believe it wasn't meant to be
Look how far we've come
And know that I'll catch you when you fall
I know you're caught staring out on the edge
Not too sure if all of this makes sense
And I know how tough learning to love can get
Mmmm, I want to be there for you if you let go
I want to be there for you when you find that
That sometimes it seems
You're fighting to simply go on
And as memories flood endlessly
you can't always be strong, no
I don't believe it wasn't meant to be
Look how far we've come
And know that I will catch you when you fall
I will catch you when you fall
The lyrics of Rie Sinclair's song "Falling Star" depict a struggle with emotional pain and the challenges of letting go. The first verse suggests that there are no easy answers when it comes to matters of the heart. It emphasizes the difficulty of holding on without the hope of being rescued, indicating a feeling of helplessness and desperation. The following lines emphasize the constant battle to keep going despite the overwhelming flood of memories that may weaken one's strength.
The second verse delves further into the pain of letting go and highlights the emergence of scars and secrets, suggesting the lingering effects of past experiences. It acknowledges that it is not always possible to be strong in the face of these difficulties. The chorus provides a sense of hope and support, assuring the listener that the singer believes in the strength of their connection and that they will be there to catch them when they fall.
Overall, the lyrics explore themes of emotional struggle, resilience, and the power of love and support in difficult times. They encourage the listener to keep fighting, even when it seems impossible, and remind them that they are not alone.
