With A Little Help From My Friends
Ringo Starr And The Roundheads Lyrics

Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
What do I do when my love is away?
Does it worry you to be alone?
How do I feel by the end of the day?
Are you sad because you're on your own?
No, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love
Would you believe in a love at first sight?
Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time
What do you see when you turn out the light?
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends
Do you need anybody?
I just need someone to love
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes, I get by with a little help from my friends
With a little help from my friends
The lyrics to Ringo Starr's "With A Little Help From My Friends" are all about the importance of friendship and the support that friends can provide us with during tough times. The first verse touches on the concept of vulnerability and the fear of judgment - what if I'm not good enough? What if I mess up and my friends walk out on me? However, the song quickly takes a positive turn as the chorus comes in: despite our imperfections, we can all get by with a little help from our friends. The second verse delves into another kind of loneliness - the emotional loneliness of missing a loved one - but once again, the chorus reiterates that we don't have to be alone if we have friends to support us.
Finally, the song ends on a more uplifting note with an exploration of love and attraction. The singer is confident that love at first sight is real and happens all the time, and even though they can't describe exactly what it is they see in the dark, they know that it belongs to them. The repetition of the chorus reinforces the central message of the song: with a little help from our friends, we can get through anything, including loneliness, vulnerability, and the search for love.

This song is worst without the chorus of John Paul and George, but it is great anyway, and Ringo is still a Beatle
