In 2003 he made his directorial debut with the release of the film 'House of 1000 Corpses' to a lukewarm reception, though it garnered quite a cult-following. Its sequel, 'The Devil's Rejects,' was released in 2005. It was received much better than the first film, even getting the 'thumbs up' from well-known film critic Roger Ebert. Also in his films is his wife Sheri Moon Zombie.
In March 2006, he released his newest album, entitled "Educated Horses". The album was a more stripped down, raw rock record, and quite a departure from the techno-industrial feel of the old Zombie albums. While this change, along with Zombie's change of appearance (he lost the dreadlocks and went back to his natural hair color, blonde), upset many of his fans, it allowed Rob to experiment with his style without deviating from his core fan base.
The new album also featured two new band members. John 5, of Marilyn Manson fame, and Tommy Clufetos, the former drummer for Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper, replaced Mike Riggs and John Tempesta, who had left the band in 2003 to work on other projects.
Hellbilly Deluxe 2, released in February 2010, is the first release where Rob Zombie worked with his full touring band. Previous albums were written and recorded by Rob Zombie himself and a rotating set of musicians. Commenting on the change, Zombie stated, "I've always had a revolving roster of studio and touring musicians, but the three guys in my band now have been on tour with me for years. So we're making it as a band. It's called Rob Zombie, but we're treating it like a band.
His half-brother, Michael Cummings is the lead singer of Powerman 5000.

A dirty black river to get you through this
Hey do ya love me, I'm a devil machine
Hey do ya love me, I'm a devil machine
Get into my world all american dream
In the mouth of madness
Down in the darkness
Down in the hollow
Hey do ya love it when the kids are screaming
Wrecking on the road violate their dreaming
Hey do ya love to see the filth in the clean
Hey do ya love to see the filth in the clean
Get into the gone all american dream
In the mouth of madness
Down in the darkness
No more tomorrow
Down in the hollow
I'm demon speeding
I'm demon speeding
I'm demon speeding
I'm demon speeding
Get it on, get it on, get it on, get it on
Come alive
Hey do ya love me, elevating the madness
Hey do ya love me, elevating the madness
A super death rising to get you through this
A super death rising to get you through this
Hey, do ya love me like a beautiful fiend
Get into my world all american dream
The lyrics of Rob Zombie's "Sinners Inc." seem to be a celebration of darkness, violence, and filth. The singer is presenting themselves as an embodiment of all those traits, a "devil machine" that runs on "dirty black river[s]" of evil that can "get you through this" world. They ask their listener if they love to see "kids screaming" and the "filth in the clean", implying that they take pleasure in causing chaos and destruction.
Furthermore, they seem to claim that they can offer an "all american dream" that involves madness and darkness instead of regular middle-class comforts, and that by joining them in their pursuit of evil the listener can "come alive". The final lines repeat the idea that the singer is a beautiful fiend that can elevate the listener's madness, and that they can offer a "super death rising" to help them deal with life. The overall impression of these lyrics is dark, defiant, and maybe even somewhat seductive, inviting the listener to embrace the darker side of life.
