In 2003 he made his directorial debut with the release of the film 'House of 1000 Corpses' to a lukewarm reception, though it garnered quite a cult-following. Its sequel, 'The Devil's Rejects,' was released in 2005. It was received much better than the first film, even getting the 'thumbs up' from well-known film critic Roger Ebert. Also in his films is his wife Sheri Moon Zombie.
In March 2006, he released his newest album, entitled "Educated Horses". The album was a more stripped down, raw rock record, and quite a departure from the techno-industrial feel of the old Zombie albums. While this change, along with Zombie's change of appearance (he lost the dreadlocks and went back to his natural hair color, blonde), upset many of his fans, it allowed Rob to experiment with his style without deviating from his core fan base.
The new album also featured two new band members. John 5, of Marilyn Manson fame, and Tommy Clufetos, the former drummer for Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper, replaced Mike Riggs and John Tempesta, who had left the band in 2003 to work on other projects.
Hellbilly Deluxe 2, released in February 2010, is the first release where Rob Zombie worked with his full touring band. Previous albums were written and recorded by Rob Zombie himself and a rotating set of musicians. Commenting on the change, Zombie stated, "I've always had a revolving roster of studio and touring musicians, but the three guys in my band now have been on tour with me for years. So we're making it as a band. It's called Rob Zombie, but we're treating it like a band.
His half-brother, Michael Cummings is the lead singer of Powerman 5000.
Werewolf Baby!
Rob Zombie Lyrics

I feel my spine coil
My hair is ripping
My mind is tripping
I am a monster
Can I come over?
Some kind of demon
To get you screaming
Werewolf, baby!
Is all she really said
The moon went up and I went out of my head
She get on it
Like she want it
When the sun dies
Night is calling
She get on it
Like she want it
When the sun dies
Night is calling
I am the right one
When the night come
A lonely hunter
You're falling under
That wicked feeling
Start believing
You are afflicted
By what the fangs did
Werewolf, baby!
Is all she really said
The moon went up and I went out of my head, yeah
She get on it
Like she want it
When the sun dies
Night is calling
She get on it
Like she want it
When the sun dies
Night is calling
Even a pure man
Deep in his heart can
Turn to insane
From the wolf's bane
I am a monster
Can I come over?
Some kind of demon
To get you screaming
Werewolf, baby!
Is all she really said
The moon went up and I went out of my head
Werewolf, baby!
Brings her to her knees
Man to wolf is what she really needs, yeah
She get on it
Like she want it
When the sun dies
Night is calling
She get on it
Like she want it
When the sun dies
Night is calling
The lyrics to Rob Zombie's "Werewolf Baby!" are suggestive of a transformation taking place within the singer, who is turning into a mythical monster. The opening verses describe the physical sensations of this shift, with violent imagery like blood boiling and hair ripping adding to a sense of grotesque transformation. Despite this, the singer longs for acceptance and connection, asking if they can come over and suggesting that some part of them is still human, with the ability to experience desire and connection.
The chorus ties this shift to a theme of the night, suggesting that the transformation is linked to the cycle of the moon and an attraction to darkness. The repetition of the phrase "she get on it / like she want it" also reinforces this idea of desire and lust, with an implied sense of danger or taboo.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of duality and conflict, with the singer expressing both fear and embrace of their newfound power. The emphasis on the wolf's bane in the later verses suggests that this transformation may not be entirely voluntary, with a sense of inevitability and fatedness.
Overall, the lyrics of "Werewolf Baby!" suggest themes of transformation, desire, and darkness, playing with the tropes of horror stories and myth in a way that is typical of Rob Zombie's style.
