Long Way Home
Robbie Seay Band Lyrics

We can clear the field that's grown between our love
If I take the fall, could we decide
To lay our fears aside?
It's a long way home but hope's around the bend
Long way home but love will sound again
Like winter's cold yields unto the spring
I can see the valleys you have crossed
I wish I could rewind the love and time we lost
But it brings us here, can we decide
To leave our fears behind?
It's a long way home but hope's around the bend
Long way home but love will sound again
Like winter's cold yields unto the spring
We'll find our way back
Stars shine, would you climb the mountain?
Life is here before us
Even though the winds blow storms will not define us
Take my hand and soul
And we will find our way back home
It's a long way home but hope's around the bend
Long way home but love will sound again
Like winter's cold yields unto the spring
We'll find our way
The lyrics of Robbie Seay Band's song "Long Way Home" are about overcoming obstacles in a relationship and finding one's way back home to love. The first stanza talks about taking each other's hands and souls to clear the field that has grown between their love. This means that the couple has drifted apart from each other, and there are obstructions in the way of their relationship. However, the singer is willing to take the fall to remove those obstructions and lay their fears aside to grow their love.
The chorus of the song talks about how it is a long way home, and there's hope around the bend. Though their relationship may have been plagued with hardships, there is still a chance for love to sound again. Winter's cold yields to spring, just as their troubles can yield to reconciliation. The second stanza talks about the valleys and lost love and time that the other person has gone through. The singer wishes they could rewind time and undo the damage, but they cannot. Instead, they can only proceed forward and leave their fears behind.
The bridge talks about the couple climbing the mountain despite the winds of the storm, trusting that their love will guide them. The last stanza reiterates the chorus's message that they will find their way back home if they take each other's hands and souls. In summary, "Long Way Home" is a song about finding a way back to love after drifting apart.

I love this song, and I love the Robbie Seay Band in general. Whenever I have failed God, or turned my back on his instruction, I listen to them and am reminded of the forgiveness he offers if we will just ask and realize that Christ has already taken our sin, we just have to ask for his forgiveness, and then "go and sin no more!"
