Williams has received a record 18 Brit Awards, winning Best British Male Artist four times, Outstanding Contribution to Music twice, an Icon Award for his lasting impact on British culture, eight German ECHO Awards, and three MTV European Music Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted the Greatest Artist of the 1990s. According to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), he has been certified for 20.2 million albums and 8.66 million singles in the UK as a solo artist. Five of his albums have also topped the Australian albums chart, and has sold 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He also topped the 2000–2010 UK airplay chart. His three concerts at Knebworth in 2003 drew over 375,000 people, the UK's biggest music event to that point. In 2014, he was awarded the freedom of his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent and had a tourist trail created and streets named in his honour. Williams' thirteenth album, XXV was released on 9 September 2022.
After 15 years, Williams rejoined Take That in 2010 to co-write and perform lead vocals on their album Progress, which became the second-fastest-selling album in UK chart history and the fastest-selling record of the century at the time. The subsequent stadium tour, which featured seven songs from Williams' solo career, became the biggest-selling concert in UK history when it sold 1.34 million tickets in less than 24 hours. In 2011, Take That frontman Gary Barlow confirmed that Williams had left the band for a second time to focus on his solo career, although he stated that the departure was amicable and that Williams was welcome to rejoin Take That in the future. Williams has since performed with Take That on three separate television appearances, and collaborated with Barlow on a number of projects such as the West End musical The Band.

Heroes let 'im down so he sleeps with the
Light on
And there's nothin' left to do but kneel down
And pray
Sail away with Caesar if you're a non believer
Everybody get high if you're a
Diamond geezer
Blame yourself it's easier
There's no need to trouble her you trouble her
Jesus in a camper van he said sorry to
Leave you but I've done all I can
I suppose even the son of God
Gets it hard sometimes
Especially when he goes round
Saying I am the way
And now it's four in the mornin' yes yes y'all in
No one can shoot but everybody's scoring
Trust me it's boring get down and pray
They told you not to meddle with the bass and the treble
There's dust on your needle and you think that
You're a rebel
You're Evel Knievel so get down and pray
Blame yourself it's easier
There's no need to trouble her you trouble her
Jesus in a camper van he said sorry to
Leave you but I've done all I can
I suppose even the son of God
Gets it hard sometimes
Especially when he goes round
Saying I am the way
I am the way, I am the way, I am the way
I am, I am, I am, I am, I am, I am the way
Jesus in a camper van he said sorry to
Leave you but I've done all I can
I suppose even the son of God
Gets it hard sometimes
Jesus in a camper van he said sorry to
Leave you but I've done all I can
I suppose even the son of God
Gets it hard sometimes
Blame yourself it's easier
There's no need to trouble her
Blame yourself it's easier
There's no need to trouble her
Jesus in a camper van he says sorry to
Leave you but I've done all I can
I suppose even the son of God
Gets it hard sometimes
Jesus in a camper van he says sorry to
Leave you but I've done all I can
I suppose even the son of God
Gets it hard sometimes
The lyrics of Robbie Williams’ song “Jesus in a Camper Van” is a commentary on modern society and how people cope with their emotions and beliefs. The song starts off by describing someone who is adored by many, referred to as an “icon”. However, this person has been let down by their heroes and is now left feeling vulnerable and alone. The chorus speaks of the main character, Jesus in a camper van, who has to apologize for not being able to do more. Even the son of God experiences hardship, and this idea highlights the imperfection of humanity. The song also touches on how people try to escape their troubles and find comfort in drugs and alcohol.
The lyrics also mention the idea of “blaming oneself”, which can be seen as a common reaction to trauma and stress. The repetition of this line emphasizes how self-blame can be a way to avoid confronting the true cause of one’s struggles. The song ends on a somber note, with Jesus still struggling despite his power and status. The reference to the “way” could signify religion, but it could also mean a way of life, a path to follow or a sense of purpose. Ultimately, the song is an introspective look at how people deal with their own struggles and how they reconcile their beliefs with the world around them.
