Your day friend
Robbie Williams Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A woo hoo
Hey hey here comes no one
Another friend to have a go on
And she asks me do I miss her when she's gone?
And I reply "As much as I miss anyone"

Oh
A woo hoo
And I'll be your gay friend
'Cause your marriage never ends
Till we fuck and fight again
There's a space between us

So jump into my bed
Pretend the world is dead
Always in my head
Is a face between us

Hey Lord forgive us if we're wrong
And make sure that he never hears this song
And she says that I'm the opposite
Of a Hallmark card
She asks me how I'm feeling well
I don't want to think that hard

Oh
A woo hoo
And I'll be your gay friend
'Cause your marriage never ends
Till we fuck and fight again
There's a space between us

Jump into my bed
Pretend the world is dead
And always in my head
Is a face between us

It's the late show now
How does the late show end?
Well if god is in the details thank god that
You're my friend
I have a friend again
You are my friend again
My gay friend

Oh
A woo hoo
Jump into my bed
Pretend the world is dead
And always in my head
Is a face between us

And I'll be your gay friend
'Cause your marriage never ends
Till we fuck and fight again
There's a space between us

Oh
A woo hoo

Overall Meaning

The above lyrics are from Robbie Williams's song "Your Gay Friend." The song starts with the singer talking about a woman who seems to want to have a physical relationship with him. He responds with a non-committal answer that he misses her as much as he misses anyone. The singer then offers to be her "gay friend" since her marriage never ends, implying that he will be someone she can turn to for physical intimacy without emotional entanglements until they inevitably have another argument or disagreement.

Throughout the song, the singer talks about a space between them, which could refer to the physical or emotional distance they have. He invites her to jump into his bed and pretend the world is dead, indicating that their relationship is purely physical and exists to escape the stresses of the real world. They seem to have a complicated relationship, with the woman telling him that he is the opposite of a Hallmark card and asking how he is feeling, to which he responds that he doesn't want to think that hard.

The song ends with the singer expressing his gratitude for having a friend again and referring to her as his "gay friend," implying that he is still willing to engage in their complicated relationship.

This is why I love the Graham Norton Show. I'm from the U.S. and we have nothing that competes with this.

@henryj8363

you should have seen him when he was on channel 4

***** All that shit is rehearsed though. I've seen Craig Ferguson hosting a panel at comic con. He was so fucking concerned with being funny and cool that I absolutely loathed him.

@hiTocopter

I don't think it was rehearsed, but they usually tape 2-3 hours and only show the best 45 minutes or whatever the run-time is. This is how all the shows do it. Go to a taping yourself and sit in the audience, it's usually free and a really good time.

@oddgreen

To much censorship, and pretty much everything is rehearsed in television in the U.S. Right?

@ElsonFernando78

The secret: it is a 4 minutes long story. Graham allows the guest to talk for that long, no rush, no interruptions, without the need to make jokes and trying to be funnier than the guest.

@Lark1610

Or forcing guests to participate in some childish games which includes food spitting or eating some awful animal parts.

@anon_y_mousse

@@Lark1610 I'll never get that segment. It's just him torturing his guests.

@christianmcbrearty

Yeah he's a great host
