Williams has received a record 18 Brit Awards, winning Best British Male Artist four times, Outstanding Contribution to Music twice, an Icon Award for his lasting impact on British culture, eight German ECHO Awards, and three MTV European Music Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted the Greatest Artist of the 1990s. According to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), he has been certified for 20.2 million albums and 8.66 million singles in the UK as a solo artist. Five of his albums have also topped the Australian albums chart, and has sold 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He also topped the 2000–2010 UK airplay chart. His three concerts at Knebworth in 2003 drew over 375,000 people, the UK's biggest music event to that point. In 2014, he was awarded the freedom of his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent and had a tourist trail created and streets named in his honour. Williams' thirteenth album, XXV was released on 9 September 2022.
After 15 years, Williams rejoined Take That in 2010 to co-write and perform lead vocals on their album Progress, which became the second-fastest-selling album in UK chart history and the fastest-selling record of the century at the time. The subsequent stadium tour, which featured seven songs from Williams' solo career, became the biggest-selling concert in UK history when it sold 1.34 million tickets in less than 24 hours. In 2011, Take That frontman Gary Barlow confirmed that Williams had left the band for a second time to focus on his solo career, although he stated that the departure was amicable and that Williams was welcome to rejoin Take That in the future. Williams has since performed with Take That on three separate television appearances, and collaborated with Barlow on a number of projects such as the West End musical The Band.

Robbie Williams Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I say it's most unusual
How can I even try to explain
Why today I feel like dancing
Singing like lovers sing
When I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing?
I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing
I say it started when I met you (ta ra ra ra ra ra)
And ever since then I knew that the past couldn't last
For right now, I think I'm running
A race that I know I'm gonna win
And I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing
I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing
If people say I'm crazy, I tell 'em that it's true
Let them watch with amazement
Say it won't last beyond breakfast
It's a phase he's going through
Denigrate or speculate on what I'm going through
Because it isn't the sort of thing I would normally do
Ask me what, (ta ra ra ra)
I say I think it's good for you (ta ra ra ra ra)
Believe it or not, I know where it's all leading to
I feel like taking all my clothes off
Dancing to the Rite of Spring
And I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing
I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing
I wouldn't normally do this kind of -
This kind of thing
The lyrics of Robbie Williams's song I Wouldn't Normally reflect a sense of freedom and impulsiveness that the singer experiences, which is unusual for him. He recognizes that he feels alive and happy in the moment, and he cannot really explain why. He attributes this feeling to meeting someone special, who perhaps brought out a side of him that he didn't know existed. This person has helped him break free from his past and has given him the courage to do things that he wouldn't normally do. He feels like he's in a race that he knows he's going to win, and he's enjoying every moment of it.
The song suggests that society tends to judge people who behave differently or outside of their usual norms. The singer recognizes this, but he's not bothered by it. He knows that people might call him "crazy" or "going through a phase," but he's not afraid to embrace his newfound sense of liberation. He feels like it is "good for him," and he knows where it's all leading to. He wants to dance, sing, and take his clothes off, which is something he wouldn't normally do but feels exhilarating.
Overall, the song I Wouldn't Normally is about breaking free and living in the moment. It's about embracing the unexpected and allowing yourself to feel alive. The lyrics suggest that sometimes we need to step outside of our comfort zones and do things we wouldn't normally do to experience true happiness.
