I Believe I'll Dust My Broom
Robert Johnson Lyrics

I'm goin' get up in the mornin', I believe I'll dust my broom
I'm goin' get up in the mornin', I believe I'll dust my broom
Girlfriend, the black man you been lovin', girlfriend, can get my room

I'm gon' write a letter, telephone every town I know
I'm gon' write a letter, telephone every town I know
If I can't find her in West Helena, she must be in East Monroe, I know

I don't want no woman, wants every downtown man she meet
I don't want no woman, wants every downtown man she meet
She's a no-good honey, they shouldn't allow her on the street

I believe, I believe I'll go back home
I believe, I believe I'll go back home
You can mistreat me here, babe, but you can't when I go home

And I'm gettin' up in the mornin', I believe I'll dust my broom
I'm gettin' up in the mornin', I believe I'll dust my broom
Girlfriend, the black man you been lovin', girlfriend, can get my room

I'm gonna call up Chiney, see if my good girl over there
I'm gonna call up China, see if my good girl over there
If I can't find her on Philippine's island, she must be in Ethiopia somewhere

This a song about
*Hes lust ..
And payin dues
Seems like people belived in reincarnation
Back then... must be cause everythin was so lovly back then
In hebrew they even are sayin when some one passes
"He returned to hes world"
Must of been inspired by that song right?
(Stop releasing new songs in diffrent years will ya )
That explains why he says he belives he will be goin back home
If he could " dust hes broom "

... Thats why they need to repaint the paintings the churches did.

@Andrew Petik according to what I've researched he died as the result of being poisoned by a jealous husband. Poisoned whiskey

I looked it up. He died at the age of 27.
Conflicting reports as to why....but it is certain that he was intentionally poisoned!
That just makes me want to cry......

The magic of this recording is that it is the first two track recording on led tape a monumental achievement in which all recording artists owe tribute

Nope. It was done on a 78 cutter in the corner of a hotel room in 1937. He did two sessions like this. Some producer heard the records and wanted to get him into a studio to make a high quality recording, but by the time they found him, he had died. What you hear is all him, all in one shot.
