Overall Meaning

What a touching song so deep from the soul! Sadly you will never find something like this masterpiece today… I still cry every time I listen to this even after 35 years! Sad lyrics of times that will never comeback… So please love today cause tomorrow will be too late!

It is such a powerful song , it's very hard for me to not get teary , while listening to it or singing it, the true emotion of the subject takes over . I worked in health care for over 25 years, being in many Seniors' Homes witnessing them and feelings of deep sorrow, their sadness being put in there, and their families washing their hands of the burden, is heartbreaking, and behind the scenes they are fighting of the future inheritance s . This song hits the bulls eye dead center !

Unfortunately, a lot of seniors also just don't know how to reach out, to make an effort. Sometimes they have a lot more money, and definitely time, to visit their children, grandchildren, and others, but they choose to stay put, waiting for others to always come to them. Sometimes the kids and grandkids are dying to be visited by them. The younger generations are struggling and can only visit so much. Being visited would be great. Happy times for all.
