I Don't Believe In Miracles
Rod Argent & Colin Blunstone Lyrics

And past your door
Then I remember things you said
I know in time it could have been
So much more
But if you wanna come back home
Go right ahead
I don't believe in miracles
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace
To tell me where you are
I believe I was your game, your ball
If you threw me up, then I would fall
And so you've won again
You win them all
But I'd believe I'd run to you
If you should call
But I don't believe in miracles
I don't believe in miracles
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace
To tell me where you are
And I believe that somewhere there's someone
Who's gonna light the way when things go wrong
The bullet that shot me down
Was from your gun
The words that turned me round
Were from your song
But I don't believe in miracles
I don't believe in miracles
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace
To tell me where you are
In "I Don't Believe In Miracles," Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone detail their feelings towards a past lover. The first verse sees the singers walking down a road and passing by their ex's door, bringing back memories of things that were said. The lyrics express regret over what could've been a deeper relationship. While they acknowledge the possibility of the ex-partner coming back to them, they don't truly believe in "miracles," or the chance of that happening.
The second verse delves into the singer's feelings of being played by their former lover. They were just a game, easily thrown up in the air, and let down repeatedly. Despite this treatment, the singer would still come running if their ex reached out. The third verse speaks to the lasting impact of their relationship, of being hurt but still searching for someone to light their way. The metaphor of the bullet and the gun represents the pain that their ex caused, while the words that turned the singer around signify their impact on their life.

It's amazing how his voice just keeps getting better and better as he goes on. We are so lucky to still have him treating us to performances.

I’ve been listening to The music of CB for what must be 30 years. I can’t say that his voice gets better but I can say that he has done a great job in preserving it. I read that he works very hard at vocal exercises to slow down the inevitable effects of age.
