Roger Waters was the main lyricist for the classic British rock band Pink Floyd. He, along with Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright, formed the band in 1965 and released their first album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn in 1967. In 1968, Syd Barrett was replaced by guitarist/singer David Gilmour. He and Gilmour were the main creative forces behind the albums Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here; Waters eventually became the primary songwriter, being the driving force behind Animals, and The Wall as well as the sole songwriter of The Final Cut. Waters became well-known for being an intense perfectionist and his controlling nature alienated the rest of the band. The Final Cut, released in 1983, was essentially a Roger Waters solo album "performed by Pink Floyd" as the credits stated. This would be the group's last album with Waters. David Gilmour decided to carry on with Pink Floyd and Waters, believing that Pink Floyd was a "non-entity" without him, sued the rest of the band to retire the Pink Floyd name. His lawsuit ultimately failed, and Pink Floyd released three more studio albums and two double live albums, without him.
The feud between David Gilmour and Roger Waters lasted for decades, and it wasn't until Live 8 in 2005 that they finally decided to set their differences aside and perform a brief set for the charity gig. This would be the last time that Pink Floyd would ever perform together in their "classic" lineup. Shortly after the show, there was much speculation that Pink Floyd would get back together for a full reunion tour, but Gilmour ultimately nixed the idea, stating that although the Live 8 gig was fun, the rehearsals were not.
Much to everyone's surprise, Gilmour and Waters reunited once again on July 11, 2010 for a charity performance for “The Hoping Foundation,” an organization that supports Palestinian refugee kids. At Ronnie Scott’s club in London, the duo performed four songs together: “To Know Him Is to Love Him” (a cover of the old Teddy Bear’s song), “Wish You Were Here,” “Comfortably Numb,” and finally (after a special request) “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2.” Once again, just like after the Live 8 Reunion, speculation began regarding future reunions. No official Pink Floyd reunion has yet been set, but Gilmour did promise that he would join Roger Waters for one show on his 2010-11 “The Wall” tour, performing “Comfortably Numb.” Gilmour fulfilled his promise on May 14, 2011 in London.
Waters has so far released the following solo albums:
* Music from The Body soundtrack with Ron Geesin(1970)
* The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking (1984)
* When the Wind Blows soundtrack with contributions from other artists as well (1986)

Wait for Her
Roger Waters Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
On a pool around the evening
Among the perfumed roses
Wait for her
With the patience of a packhorse
Loaded for the mountains
Like a stoic, noble prince
With seven pillows laid out on the stair
The scent of womens' incense fills the air
Be calm, and wait for her
And do not flush the sparrows
That are nesting in her braids
All along the barricades
Wait for her
And if she comes soon
Wait for her
And if she comes late
Wait
Let her be still as a summer afternoon
A garden in full bloom
Let her breathe in the air
That is foreign to her heart
Let her lips part
Wait for her
Take her to the balcony, see the moon soaked in milk
Hear the rustle of her silk
Wait for her
Don't let your eyes alight upon the twin doves of her breast
Lest they take flight
Wait for her
And if she comes soon
Wait for her
And if she comes late
Wait
Serve her water before wine
Do not touch her hand
Let your fingertips rest as her command
Speak softly as a flute would to a fearful violin
Breathe out, breathe in
And as the echo fades from that final fusillade
Remember the promises you made
The song "Wait for Her" by Roger Waters is a ballad about waiting for love. The lyrics describe a scene of anticipation and longing while waiting for a lover. The first stanza sets the scene with the image of a "glass inlaid with gemstones" and "perfumed roses" in the evening. The second stanza describes the waiting with the patience of a packhorse loaded for the mountains, like a stoic, noble prince. The third stanza describes the setting with "seven pillows laid out on the stair" and "the scent of womens' incense fills the air".
The fourth stanza is a warning not to disturb the sparrows nesting in her braids as you wait for her. The fifth and sixth stanzas encourage the listener to wait for their lover even if she comes soon or late. The seventh stanza describes the image of stillness and beauty, like a garden in full bloom. The eighth and ninth stanzas set the scene of taking her to the balcony to see the moon, and to wait for her without touching her or startling her.
The final stanza speaks of the echoes of past battles and the promises made to love and cherish each other. The song is a beautiful and intimate portrayal of the waiting game in love, and the patience and softness required to make love blossom.

With a glass inlaid with gemstones
With opulence and luxury as you wait for her presence
On a pool around the evening
Surrounded by the calmness of night and the reflection of stars on still waters
Among the perfumed roses
In the midst of fragrant flowers that symbolize love and passion
Wait for her
Be patient and wait for her arrival
With the patience of a packhorse
With unwavering endurance like a beast of burden
Loaded for the mountains
Prepared for a journey that may be arduous and rugged
Like a stoic, noble prince
With the grace and dignity of a royal figure
With seven pillows laid out on the stair
In a home that is lavishly decorated for her arrival
The scent of women's incense fills the air
Surrounded by sweet aroma that evokes sensuality and femininity
Be calm, and wait for her
Remain tranquil and composed while anticipating her arrival
And do not flush the sparrows
Do not disrupt the tender, loving parts of her appearance
That are nesting in her braids
The delicate adornments that make her extra special
All along the barricades
Among the obstacles that stand in the way of your love
Wait for her
Continue to patiently wait for her presence
And if she comes soon
If she arrives quickly
Wait for her
Still wait for her
And if she comes late
If she arrives late
Wait
Continue to wait until she comes
Let her be still as a summer afternoon
Allow her to be serene and peaceful like a warm summer day
A garden in full bloom
Filled with vitality and beauty
Let her breathe in the air
Allow her to appreciate and learn from new experiences
That is foreign to her heart
That may initially seem strange or unfamiliar to her
Let her lips part
Listen to what she has to say with eagerness and attention
Wait for her
Be patient and wait for her time to speak
Take her to the balcony, see the moon soaked in milk
Take her to a place where nature's beauty is at its finest
Hear the rustle of her silk
Listen to every subtle sound she makes
Wait for her
Be patient and wait for her
Don't let your eyes alight upon the twin doves of her breast
Avoid objectifying her and treat her with respect
Lest they take flight
Lest she feels uncomfortable and leaves
Wait for her
Be patient and wait for her to be comfortable
Serve her water before wine
Prioritize her needs and respect her preferences
Do not touch her hand
Respect her boundaries and avoid being too forward
Let your fingertips rest as her command
Let her take the lead and determine the pace
Speak softly as a flute would to a fearful violin
Speak delicately and soothingly like a musician playing an instrument
Breathe out, breathe in
Relax and take in the moment
And as the echo fades from that final fusillade
As the faint sound dissipates from the final battle
Remember the promises you made
Recall the agreements you have made with her and honor them

Never apologize for that, could you imagine how it would be without music, I cry everyday, and I’ve been playing guitar for …5th decade now, and when you have to sing that note that grabs your heart every single time you hear it….tears only enhance that.

I got married on June 2nd, 2017. The day the album came out. The first thing I did, I was to buy the album and listen to it while dressing for my wedding. And just for that, this album will remain an incredible memory.
And one year later, I saw Roger Waters in concert for the second time in my life in Paris, but the first time with my wife.
Sorry for my English!

You are so lucky to have such a great wife that joined the concert. My wife does not let me listen Roger's songs at home.
