The song "You're So Right for Me" is a classic rockabilly love song, with Ronnie Self professing his love for a "wild baby" who has caught his eye. The lyrics are simple and straightforward, with Self declaring that the woman in question is "so right" for him. He describes her as having "big bright eyes" and "sweet lips," and he can't resist her charms. Throughout the song, he implores her to open up the door and let him in so that they can be together.
One interpretation of the lyrics is that this is a song about young love - the kind of infatuation that makes your heart race and your palms sweaty. Self is clearly smitten with this woman, and he can't wait to take things to the next level. There's a sense of urgency and excitement in the lyrics that suggests that this relationship is still in its early stages, but that Self is confident that it's going to be something special.
Overall, "You're So Right for Me" is a catchy, upbeat song that captures the energy and enthusiasm of rockabilly music. Its lyrics are simple but effective, and they convey the joy and excitement of falling in love.

One of the greatest recordings of all time. What a tragedy that he died so early. He was from the Ozarks if I recall correctly. When I played in a rockabilly band in my 30s, the guys place that we practiced at actually had some of these old vintage posters on the door and one of them was Ronnie self opening for James Brown in Topeka at the probably brand new Expo Center or something like that. Wow.

So badass! I love all these raw rock n roll/Rockabilly from the 50's 60's and even later. That is what got me into punk garage rock, first i couldn't stand them but once i started listen to old school rockabilly and rock n roll i just craved more raw and energetic stuff and where i matched with punk, garage and other obscureties. Wow that was my story, hope you are doing well.

Oh, darn first here making a comment...feels good. LOL Okay, to business: This must be the wildest Rocker/Rock -A-Billy song ever done! I wonder what happened with his vocal cords if there had to be more than one take. His larynx just HAD to be swollen. He also had a great band, though I do not know who they are but it sounds on his records there got to be some session pros. Thanks Dave for posting it.
