Joel attended the Ljungskile College of Music, concentrating on jazz drumming in 2007. However, he was still attracted to rock music, and during his college time, he also improved his singing, music production, and instrumental talents beyond drumming.
Berghult started his YouTube channel in 2010. In 2014, he rose to prominence by uploading a series of celebrity singer impressions. The first of which was titled "One Guy, 14 Voices" which became the first of Berghult's many viral videos. The next year Berghult released a follow up "One Guy, 15 Voices" in August 2015. He was subsequently invited to perform on Nyhetsmorgon in September 2015, followed by Good Morning America that October. The most recent of the series, released in 2017 is "One Guy, 43 Voices (with music)" which has over 96 million views and is Berghult's most viewed video as of December 2022.
In 2014, Berghult began to release music with fellow Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie (who is also a Gothenburg native). The single "His Name is Pewdiepie" was released in 2014 and was made using samples of PewDiePie's voice; later that year, "Fabulous" was released, followed by "Brofist" in 2016. In 2019, Berghult again teamed up with PewDiePie and longtime collaborator Boyinaband on the song "Congratulations". The song peaked at number one on the US Comedy Digital Track Sales published by Billboard and has over 200 million views on YouTube as of 2021.
In December 2019, Berghult uploaded daily videos as part of a series called "Daily December". In response to positive feedback, he continued releasing daily videos. He grew discontent with the daily upload schedule, and announced a hiatus from YouTube on 11 June 2020, which lasted until 22 July. On 20 July 2020, while still on break, Berghult released an album single "Livin' For That" on Spotify under the name "Lil Pitchy". The album consists of the song "Livin' For That", plus its instrumental and a cappella versions. On 31 May 2021, Berghult announced another hiatus from YouTube. He cited fatigue from uploading daily videos, and wanting to shift focus to larger-scale projects. He ended that hiatus on 28 September, with the video "We Bought 100 Microphones To Do This...".

To crash the critic saying, "Is it right or is it wrong?"
If only fame had an I.V., baby could I bear
Being away from you, I found the vein, put it in here
I live for the applause, applause, applause
I live for the applause-plause
Live for the applause-plause
The applause, applause, applause
Give me that thing that I love (I'll turn the lights out)
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (make it real loud)
Give me that thing that I love (I'll turn the lights out)
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (make it real loud)
(A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud
(A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch
(A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud
(A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch
I've overheard your theory "nostalgia's for geeks"
I guess sir, if you say so, some of us just like to read
One second I'm a Koons, then suddenly the Koons is me
Pop culture was in art, now art's in pop culture in me
I live for the applause, applause, applause
I live for the applause-plause
Live for the applause-plause
Live for the way that you cheer and scream for me
The applause, applause, applause
Give me that thing that I love (I'll turn the lights out)
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (make it real loud)
Give me that thing that I love (I'll turn the lights out)

(A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud
(A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch
Touch, touch
Touch, touch now

The lyrics of Roomie’s song “Applause” suggest that fame is an ephemeral, fleeting, and highly addictive experience. The song opens with the artist waiting for the media to evaluate his work, criticize or appreciate it. He finds it difficult to be away from his audience for a long time and imagines fame to be like an intravenous drip that he could connect to anytime he wants to feel its rush. He says he lives for the “applause” and the way his fans cheer and scream for him. This line has a double meaning. On one hand, the artist needs the validation and attention that come with fame. On the other hand, the lyrics suggest that he is addicted to applause, that is, the momentary high he experiences when he performs in front of a large audience.
The second stanza is a reflection on the changing nature of art and culture. The lyricist mentions a theory that nostalgia is for geeks; some people prefer to focus on current trends than look back into history. He, however, says he sometimes enjoys learning about art from the past. He also acknowledges how pop culture has influenced art and vice versa. These lines highlight how the boundaries between high and low culture have blurred in contemporary societies.

I think he said he was doing it wrong and fucked his voice up. You can really hear it on the art and pop culture part, it shouldn’t sound that wet and guttural
