Roseau Lyrics

I wrap my arms around you
I can't get close enough
I need some distance
To take in all of you
you give it life
you make the blood run through
come play the toxins in the absence of youth
we're alright
we're alright
we're alright
I wrap my arms around
I wrap my arms around you
I can't get close enough
I made some distance
we're alright
we're alright
we're alright
we're alright
we're alright
we're alright
we're alright
we're alright
In Roseau's song "Alright," the lyrics are hauntingly beautiful in their simplicity. At first glance, the song seems to be about physical intimacy, with lines like "I wrap my arms around you, I can't get close enough." However, on further interpretation, it's clear that the song is actually about emotional intimacy and the desire to fully understand another person. The singer wants to "take in all of you" and "play the toxins in the absence of youth" - to really get to know someone on a deeper level, to share in their joys and their pain.
The repeated refrain of "we're alright" can be read in a few different ways. On one hand, it could be a reassurance to the other person that everything is okay, that they can be vulnerable together. On the other hand, it could be a reminder to the singer themselves - a mantra to convince themselves that they can handle the emotional intensity they're seeking.
Overall, "Alright" is a tender and honest depiction of the complexities of emotional intimacy. The ambiguity of the lyrics allows for multiple interpretations, making the song feel deeply personal to anyone who listens to it.
