Glee, Actually
Feliz Navidad by José Feliciano is featured in Glee, Actually,
The tenth episode of Season Four.
It is sung by Artie with the New Directions.

The song is sung by Artie in a dream he has.
He dreams about a timeline in which he has never been in a car
Accident and thus is not bound to a wheelchair.
This has the negative side-effect, though,
That the New Directions had never been formed,
Since Will was unable to find enough members without
Artie, who is too busy playing football in that timeline.

When Artie realizes that the lives of his friends have changed to the
Worse, he decides to found his own glee club.
When the others don't show any enthusiasm towards the idea,
Rachel asks Artie to sing a song and show them how much fun it's
Supposed to be. Artie then sings Feliz Navidad and dances around the
Room, interacting with several former New
Directions members, but the response is again uniformly negative.

Overall Meaning

The Spanish-language song "Feliz Navidad" by José Feliciano is a classic Christmas tune that conveys a message of warmth and celebration. The lyrics, translated into English, mean "Merry Christmas, Prosperous Year and Happiness." The opening repetition of the lyrics serves to emphasize the holiday greetings and convey the joy of the moment. The song is simple, catchy and easy to sing along to.

The English verse adds to the underlying message of love and goodwill by wishing the listeners a Merry Christmas from "the bottom of my heart." This emphasizes the emotional connection one has with the listener and the strength of the bond they share. The later verses contain no new information, serving to reinforce the song's cheerful sentiment and add to its festive energy. When the song is sung in Spanish, the words add yet another layer to the song's cultural significance and its message of global unity in the spirit of Christmas.

"Feliz Navidad" was written by Puerto Rican-born musician José Feliciano in 1970. At the time, he was one of the most popular Latin American musicians in the world. The song became an instant Christmas classic, beloved throughout the United States and Latin America. It has been covered by countless artists and is played every holiday season around the world. The song's success helped Feliciano win a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. The song's popularity has even led to it being featured on the hit television show "Glee."

I don't know where I don't want to go
On the highway road.
(The last two verses are because I got it mixed up with the Jimmy Buffett song "Volcano".)
