Bloomed doomed to ruin the country
People believed that the baby boomer generation would be responsible for the downfall of the United States.

However, nobody could have predicted that the children of Normandy would go on to fight in Vietnam.

Soon would resume war with Vietnamese
The children of Normandy would soon fight in the Vietnam War.

Overseas, we sent 18 year-olds to bleed
The United States sent eighteen-year-olds to fight and die in wars overseas.

Face it, like Oswald woke the nation
Just as Lee Harvey Oswald's assassination of President Kennedy shocked the nation,

Osama woke my generation
The attacks on September 11th, 2001, had a profound impact on my generation.

Now the kids of Nintendo
Today's youth, who grew up playing video games like Nintendo.

If drafted will attend the
If there were to be a draft, these kids would be forced to attend

Bush administration family agenda
They would be serving the agenda of the Bush administration, which was closely tied to wealthy families.

Of bending back hands and sending children
Of using physical punishment and sending young people to war.

Attacking Iraqi lands and buildings
Fighting in the Iraq War, which involved attacking buildings and infrastructure within Iraq.

So Cheney can rebuild for 200 billion
Former Vice President Dick Cheney, who had ties to the oil industry, benefited financially from the reconstruction efforts in Iraq.

They'll disarm the regime but not the children
The United States is willing to take away the weapons of foreign governments, but not willing to regulate access to guns within its own borders.

Sacrificing our kids lives for global crisis
The United States sends its young people to fight in wars that have global implications.

While fools of the NRA
Some members of the National Rifle Association (NRA) are foolish.

Watch kids shoot kids in high schools
As school shootings occur and children kill other children,

With tools they say kill deer
Weapons that were designed for hunting animals are now being used to kill humans.

Not fill pools of blood
These guns were not intended for use in violent attacks.

And guts, and tears, and the love and trust
The devastating results of these shootings include injury, emotional trauma, and the loss of loved ones.

We lent to the government
We entrusted the government with the power to regulate firearms.

That's here to protect not just guns but us
The government is meant to protect its citizens, including from the harm caused by firearms.

Don't place blame on video games
Video games are not responsible for acts of violence.

Marilyn Manson or NWA
Blaming musicians like Marilyn Manson or N.W.A is also misguided.

How can we blame them for the situation?
There is no logical reason to hold musicians accountable for mass shootings.

When an Alzheimer's patient
The leader of the NRA has Alzheimer's disease, raising concerns about his ability to oversee the organization.

Leads the Nation Rifle Association
This person is the head of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Visual images were used to sway public opinion and convey the severity of the situation.

To influence the way people thought about the crisis.

And now we hide behind bombs
The United States relies heavily on its military strength and the threat of force.

Dropped on innocent moms
Innocent people are harmed by military actions, including women and children.

Ignoring gun control and dropping stocks
The United States has prioritized the stock market over laws and regulations related to firearms.

Senate majority leaders opposing '57 Little Rock
Members of the Senate who opposed the integration of Little Rock Central High School in 1957 are indicative of a long history of racial tensions and systemic issues in the United States.

While we annihilate North Korea, Iran and Iraq
The United States has been involved in conflicts with these countries, and some people feel that the situation has not been resolved peacefully or effectively.

If the government shoots first
If the United States resorts to violence and military intervention,

To stimulate commerce
To boost economic growth and promote businesses.

Things are only going to get worse
This approach is unlikely to be successful and could make the situation worse rather than better.

We sold them the same guns
The United States sells weapons to other countries.

That are now facing back towards us
These same weapons are now being used against us.

And what do we do?
In response to this threat,

We go over there
The United States engages in military interventions in other countries.

But until we view here and there as the same place
Until we recognize that the world is interconnected and that events in other countries have an impact on us,

We will always be fighting another religion, another race
The underlying issues that lead to conflicts will never truly be resolved.

There are peaceful solutions
There are alternatives to violence and warfare.

There are peaceful resolutions
There are ways to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence.

Peace
The ultimate goal is peace and a world without violence and conflict.
