The drummer is on fire. What a great track, in just about every detail.

Almost 40 years on, this still sounds sensational. Bucky Berger is drumming along with the rhythm machine and does such a great job laying down that groove.
I was always of the mind that were Rough Trade based in London, England (versus Toronto, Canada) they might have had a greater level of success, if only because the industry there - media included - played such a prominent role as consumer taste shapers, and I believe they would have taken to the band in a big way.
As Jeff Gay notes below, Rough Trade is more like Grace Jones than the contemporary Canadian bands they were often compared to. They were nothing like Haywire, Kim Mitchell, Rush, Trooper, Harlequin or any of the rest. And maybe that was their drawback - they couldn't be lumped in with the others. Lisa Dalbello was another. Ditto Jane Sibery. Canada has produced some great musicians who have delivered some great music. Unfortunately the record-buying audience isn't always so great when it comes to grasping music that doesn't fit the norm.
