Crying Time
Roy Orbison Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh, it's cryin' time again, you're gonna leave me
I can see that far away look in your eyes
I can tell by the way you hold me darlin' Oooh
That it won't be long before it's cryin' time

Now they say that absence makes the heart grow fonder (fonder)
And that tears are only rain to make love grow
Well my love for you could never grow no stronger (stronger)
If I lived to be a hundred years old

Oh, it's cryin' time again, you're gonna leave me
I can see that far away look in your eyes
I can tell by the way you hold me darlin'. Yeah now
That it won't be long before it's cryin' time

Now you say you've found someone that you love better (better)
That's the way it's happened every time before
And as sure as the sun comes up tomorrow ('morrow)
Cryin' time will start when you walk out the door

Oh, it's cryin' time again, you're gonna leave me
I can see that far away look in your eyes
I can tell by the way you hold me darlin'. Alright now

That it won't be long before it's cryin' time
(That it won't be long before it's cryin' time)

Thanks to YouTube and the people who post so many of Roy's song's we his fans are able to hear so many songs that Roy recorded that we may have never heard before which is the case for this song. I have never heard this beautiful song and am so glad I was able to pull it up and be able to hear one more song recorded by one of the greatest singers in the history of "Rock & Roll". Roy Orbison is a true Icon and Legend in the history of "Rock & Roll". It's so sad that we lost this great talent at such a young age, but his great talent will live on for many years to come.

In an interview Roy was asked how he came up with "his look". He said he didn't have a manager to help him decide what looked best, but I think he made some excellent choices. The black hair (a rinse like Elvis's he called it), changing the way he fixed his hair, keeping the dark glasses and the (usually) black outfits- he not only looked better IMO but was instantly recognizable. Thank you for posting this song.
