And everywhere we go
You'll never meet another bitch
As salty as these hoes
She wanna blame it on the edit
Blame it on the edit
She wanna blame it on the edit
Go on and take the credit, bitch
You the one who said it, bitch
How you gon' regret it?
Blame it on the edit
Blame it on the edit
Stompin' on roaches (stomping on roaches)
And walking these ducks (walking these ducks)
Make my way on the runway
Anetra 'bout to pump
I twist, I whip, I dip, hair flip (I twist, I whip, I dip, hair flip)
Smash that eye, gloss that lip, a total ten
Your girl's a hit
Lookin' just like a dream
Look so fierce it be causin' a scene
When I step on the runway
You already know all eyes on me
Ate these bitches, left no crumbs
Did it in designer pumps
So when they ask about Luxx
Let them know that she's the one
She wanna blame it on the edit
Blame it on the edit
She wanna blame it on the edit
You the one who said it, edit
Go on and take the credit, bitch
You the one who said it, bitch
How you gon' regret it?
Blame it on the edit
Blame it on the edit
Bad bitch body, I don't come and play
Best believe when I stepped on the scene
Shady hoes just run away
Dream chaser, style maker, game changer, bank maker
Crack the code, now y'all know
Sasha Colby run the show, ah
MIB, I'm the MVP
It makes sense why all these girls envy me
'Cause I'ma clock the tea, and I don't give a tuck
Excuse me, why you mad?
Like a bitch from west bum tuck
But guess what, yes, I said it and I made it, too
I'm the next in line, Kingdom Mama Ru
And if you step outta line, I'ma gather you
Make room 'cause a big girl's coming through
Blame it on the edit
Blame it on the edit
She wanna blame it on the edit
You the one who said it, edit
Go on and take the credit, bitch
You the one who said it, bitch
How you gon' regret it?
Blame it on the edit
Blame it on the edit
All these shows around the world
And everywhere we go
You'll never meet another bitch
As salty as these hoes
Edit, blame it on the edit
She wanna blame it on the edit

"Blame It on the Edit" by RuPaul is a fierce and empowering anthem that addresses the drama and shade often found in the world of reality television. RuPaul, being a prominent figure in the drag queen community and the host of the reality show "RuPaul’s Drag Race," uses the song to address the constant blame-shifting that happens among contestants when they say or do something controversial on camera.
The lyrics describe the ego-driven nature of these reality TV shows, with RuPaul asserting that no one can match the level of saltiness and shade delivered by the other contestants. The line "She wanna blame it on the edit" emphasizes the common tactic of blaming the editing process for distorting one's statements or actions when they face backlash.
RuPaul confidently takes ownership of the words and actions displayed on the show, urging others to do the same. The repeated line "You the one who said it, edit" highlights that the contestants themselves are responsible for their choices and words. The song ultimately encourages individuals to embrace their authenticity and not shy away from the consequences of their actions.
Overall, "Blame It on the Edit" serves as a reminder to take accountability, be true to oneself, and not resort to blaming external factors for one's own behavior.
