----------
January, 2001. Three guys from different bands and similar tastes looked at one another and asked: “why not?”. The three piece alternative rock band Rusty Project was born, aiming to mix and renew the member’s main influences: From 80s metal to Seattle’s grunge and nowadays' metal and everything between. Defining harmony and originality as a top priority, the band started composing and playing in the local circuit.
July, 2002. The first demo album, project II, was released. Although it was not a pro recording, it achieved great response from, at least at the time, acclaimed music websites such as MP3.com and IUMA.com, reaching top10 on mp3.com’s genre rank for a long time.
September, 2004. Project III is out. Now with some road and studio baggage, the band could finally show what rusty project is all about. Solid songs with unique harmonies, well placed vocal lines, excellent execution. Albums were sold worldwide, mainly in North America and Europe. More than 500000 track downloads were done so far.
June, 2009. 4 years after their last release, the band gathered to rehearse and record their new independent project, with one thing in mind: Leave all commercial/producing stereotypes/cliches/deadlines and simply do what they wanted to do. One year and a half later, “Unite” was ready, with 21 songs - all of them produced by the band and 90% of all tracks recorded at the band’s own studio.
“Unite” is by far the band’s most pretentious work to date and shows that rusty project has grown up in comparison to its last releases; harmonies are tight, guitar riffs are strong and present, vocal lines are sticky and well made/built. The Songs blend old school and modern rock influences with a prog touch, resulting in a singular and well produced album overall, which should please anyone who loves modern rock and good music.

Sunny Day
Rusty Project Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
This Sunny day is getting dark, too dark, too dark.
Every minute away from you, feels like a thousand frozen days
This Sunny day is getting dark, too dark, too dark
Remember how we were and everything was calm
Now the storm is sure to come
You’re so far I just can’t see
Now your hands are out of reach
But I know it’s just my head
I know this is up to me
You’re so far I just can’t see
And I hope you understand me, I hope you understand
This Sunny day is getting colder
This Sunny day is getting dark, too dark, too dark.
The rain is sure to come again, a great cloud right above my head.
This Sunny day is getting dark, too dark, too dark.
Remember how we were and everything was calm
Now the storm is sure to come
You’re so far I just can’t see
Now your hands are out of reach
But I know it’s just my head
I know this is up to me
You’re so far I just can’t see
And I hope you understand me, I hope you understand
All the words you say, I was not there to reply, I wasn’t there to reply
You’re so far I just can’t see
Now your hands are out of reach
And I hope you understand me, I hope you understand
Everything was fine
A sunshine and a blue sky
But Faded by my mistakes
You’re so far I just can’t see
But I know this is just my head
And I hope you understand, I hope you understand.
The lyrics to Rusty Project's song Sunny Day convey a sense of apprehension and uncertainty as the singer describes a once-bright day turning dark and cold. The lyrics suggest that the cause of this change may be the singer's relationship with someone who is now distant and out of reach. The first verse mentions that every minute away from this person feels like a thousand frozen days, suggesting that their absence has a profound and chilling effect. The second verse describes a storm that is sure to come, perhaps referring to an impending conflict or the potential end of the relationship.
Despite acknowledging that the situation is largely up to them, the singer expresses a hope that the person they are addressing will understand their perspective. The repeated lines about hands being out of reach and not being able to see the other person suggest a physical separation as well as an emotional one. The final verse laments the fact that the idyllic day has been "faded" by the singer's mistakes, perhaps indicating regret over actions that have led to the current situation.
Overall, the lyrics to Sunny Day suggest a sense of longing and uncertainty in the face of a difficult situation. The singer is troubled by the distance between them and someone else, and seems to be grappling with the possibility of a stormy end to their relationship.
