He has also released solo albums under the alter-ego Bobby Digital. In addition to the Wu-Tang Clan and his solo releases, RZA was also a founding member of the rap group Gravediggaz where he used the name The Rzarector.
He has made cameos in several movies including Coffee and Cigarettes, American Gangster, Gospel Hill, Life Is Hot in Cracktown, Ghost Dog, Funny People, Repo Men. About.com named him 3rd on their list of best hip hop producers of all time
Born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, RZA spent time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a child, where his father had a convenience store in the Hill District.[1] A young RZA also spent many years living in North Carolina with his uncle. RZA began his hip hop career in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a member of the trio Force of the Imperial Master (which subsequently became known as the All in Together Now Crew after they had a successful underground single of that name). The group consisted of future Wu-Tang members and his cousins GZA (then known as the Genius) and Ol' Dirty Bastard (then known as Ason Unique, the Specialist, and the Professor).
Once this local band dissolved, both he and the GZA attempted to kick start solo careers. With the help of GZA's friend (then owner of Jamaica Records) they both secured single deals with album options at successful labels, GZA going to Cold Chillin and RZA to Tommy Boy. GZA ultimately released the Words from the Genius album, but RZA's stint at Tommy Boy ended with only the 1991 EP Ooh I Love You Rakeem to show for it when he went to jail soon after its release. GZA's album flopped, and the two cousins became determined to conquer the hip hop industry on their own terms. Throughout most of his youth he enjoyed watching various kung-fu movies and purchasing countless albums which he would later sample in most of his music

Meditation of inevitable death should be performed daily
Every day, when one's body and mind are at peace
He should meditate up on being up to blocked
By arrows, rifles, spears and swords
Being carried away by surging waves
Being thrown in to the midst of a great fire
Being struck by a lightning, and shaken to death by a great earthquake
Committing seppiku at the death of one's master
In everyday when one fails, one should consider himself as dead
This is a substance of the way of a samurai
Nigga I don't want to talk
I own one, ghost gun, briefcase in this equilibrium
It's the killa on your block, melodic flux
War flock, of perfected, dead it, bloods chop it up
And the birds of a feather, fly together
Intellaced moving mo' murder messages of me and Leatha Face
I'm your retainer, your perfect stranger
36th Chamber, Wu-Tang banga
I hit the dust and bust a straight no braina
Heavyweight gaina, and a lone blown ranger
Welcome to the world I rock
Doing what in the cut, while niggaz know not
Grand theft, awaited with baited breath
Hear witnesses fear just as clear as death
In the twinklin of an eye, in the ways of the samurai
It's do or die, for the devil's pie
Now I'm phat broad down, received from mo' high
So beautiful it make you want to cry, cry, cry
Power Equality, Ghost Dog
For Christ Bearer, Killa Bees, west coast God
Yo,
Yo, son will you kill kill for sho, sho
Yo, son will you kill kill for sho, sho
Yo, dog will you kill kill for sho, sho
Yo, son will you kill kill for sho, sho
Yo, Black will you kill kill for sho, sho
Yo, D will you kill kill for shoe, sho
Yo, Mink will you kill kill for sho, sho
Yo, Christ will you kill kill for sho, sho
Ah, designed to cause disaster, the mic blaster
Cause atoms to transfer, with immediate report for you bastards
I make minds stagger, with this North Star golden dagger
I self Lord and master, represented in this chapter
For you phony wild actors, I crack ya
For tryin to distract us, in the west
Transportin flows of energy in your chest
Over deep bass tones, in the flesh
Odd bones are rock clones
Repentance in the devil home 'cause he divided the whole globe
Transform souls, told lies, we wrote scrolls
Now it's on, it's bid war
360 degrees that form the negative swarm
Born mentally and physically from the essence
Where North Star be flexin, questin, addressing
All minds that's hectic, no place to be
North Star trilogy, west coast Killa Bee
(Killa Who?) Killa Bee, (Killa Who?) Killa Bee
Killa Bee, (Killa Who?) Killa Bee

The verse "The way of the samurai is found in death" is a direct quotation from the Book of the Samurai, also known as the Hagakure. This means that the song is deeply rooted in Japanese culture and philosophy, specifically the way of the samurai. The song encourages individuals to meditate on the inevitability of death, and to live each day as if it were their last. The lyrics suggest that one should consider themselves dead every time they fail so that they may learn from their mistakes.
The next verse switches to RZA's persona as a rapper. He talks about owning a "ghost gun" (an untraceable firearm), being the "killa on your block," and references his work as a retainer and lone ranger. He describes himself as a "heavyweight gaina" and a "Wu-Tang banga" before diving into a brief meditation on the fleetingness of life.
The chorus goes through different members of Wu-Tang asking if they would kill if necessary, providing a fitting juxtaposition to the earlier verse's talk on living life while considering one's own mortality.
Overall, the song carries a message of living life to the fullest while being prepared for the inevitability of death, fitting well within the tenets of the samurai code.
