With the recent release of his masterwork, ‘Uni-verses’ S.U.N. has found himself, once again in the role of musical trailblazer. A distinguished veteran of the Detroit Hip Hop scene, S.U.N. has astonishingly redefined his unique blend of Hip Hop, Afro beat, and Soul with a record that flows like one continuous song over the course of 22 tracks. The genius lies in the fact that all of the tracks contain only ‘One Verse’. Production was provided by some of the finest producers in the country, including the Lab Technicians (Athletic Mic League), DJ AMF, & ZO!. The Lab Techs and Zo! have produced for and worked with such luminaries as Slum Village, Dwele, Little Brother, Phat Kat, Platinum Pied Pipers, OneBeLo and too many others to list.
S.U.N’s lyrical prowess comes from his upbringing in Ypsilanti, Mi. where the inability of people to rise above their conditions has been an inspiration to project their plight through his words. Through the exposure he has received on myspace.com, songs like ‘Black Economics’ and ‘Give Me Understanding’ have become anthems for the impoverished and disenfranchised around the world.
With ‘Uni-verses’ his spiritual and meditative approach to his music bleeds through on songs like ‘Life Is In Motion’, and ‘Be Original’. The mood of ‘Uni-Verses’ reflects all that has influenced his writings over the past four years. Songs like ‘Now Showin’ was written on the eve of the American invasion of Iraq, while ‘Tryin to Get A Win’ reflects the financial struggles of an pure lyricist in the post 9/11 economy.
S.U.N’s distinguished career has led him to work directly with some of the biggest names in the business. As a member of the Fonkey Bald Heads he had the opportunity to work with Prince. He has recorded with, and had featured appearances on his records by such hip hop luminaries as Juice, OneBeLo, Bizarre (D-12), and Buff 1 among countless others. He was listed by the Metro Times (Detroit Weekly) as one of several local artists who should be credited for the evolution of the Hip Hop scene in Detroit.
S.U.N’s live performances have won him acclaim all over the U.S. for his spontaneity, lyrical precision, impromptu accapellas, and top flight musicianship provided by the official live hip hop band of Detroit, the Gorilla Funk Mob. Unlike many emcees in the industry today, S.U.N is a veteran of performing with live musicians and is equally at home performing with a band as he is with a DJ.
Off stage, S.U.N. is relaxed and contemplative. His favorite quote is simply “Underground music should be felt not heard.” When people witness him for the first time onstage, that is exactly what they experience. By the end of the show, they’re usually running to the ATM to get enough cash to buy his CD’s.
Save Yourself
S.U.N. (Scientific Universal Noncommercial) Lyrics

Some more satisfactory than others
Good or bad is a repetitive cycle
But what does it work for?
If at the end the situation will be the same
We like it or not we are puppets
Of the absolute power
Open your eyes!
Save yourself
Stop believing in absurd things!
What you've believed until now is fake!
Create your own ideas
Look for the truth
Liberate yourself from social stigmats
Well this controls you
It will just make you pawn!
Don't ever stay with the first option
Have your B and C plans
The media to hell
Every day that you wake up and think more of yourself!
The lyrics of "Save Yourself" by S.U.N. delve into the theme of personal growth and breaking free from societal constraints. The song begins by highlighting the way we accumulate experiences in our lives, with some being more satisfactory than others. However, it points out that this cycle of good and bad does not necessarily lead to progress or change. The question arises: what is the purpose of it all?
The lyrics suggest that regardless of our preferences and beliefs, we are essentially controlled like puppets by the absolute power, which can be interpreted as societal norms or systems. The song encourages the listener to open their eyes and truly see the reality around them. It urges them to save themselves from the traps of blindly following absurd beliefs and ideas that have been ingrained in them.
The lyrics emphasize the importance of creating one's own ideas and seeking the truth instead of accepting things at face value. The singer urges the listener to break free from the social stigmas that control and suppress them. By doing so, they can liberate themselves from being mere pawns in a larger game orchestrated by those in power.
Additionally, the song advises against settling for the first option presented to us. It encourages individuals to have backup plans, to not limit themselves, and to always strive for alternatives. This rejection of being complacent with the status quo extends to the media as well, as the lyrics suggest disregarding its influence and instead focusing on personal growth and self-improvement every day.
In summary, "Save Yourself" is a call to action for individuals to question and break free from the limitations imposed by society. It urges listeners to seek their own truth, challenge societal expectations, and have multiple options in order to truly save themselves from being controlled and manipulated.

@@nicholasmatthew9687 I can see that. He got quite large teeth and he might have more teeth just like Freddie.
Extra space equals more range on the resonance.
It is possible to increase your resonance by flexing your pharyngeal muscles tho. Since i have Ectodermal dysplasia a section of my jaw tendons are much softer allowing me to stretch the muscles further. (I look like a toad when i do it XD
Back to the point. Some of these genetical "anomalies" can be truly beneficial in music.
I love that our bodies are so different!

Lyrics:
It weighs heavier on one's heart
I could tell right from the start that sweet ones are hard to come across
Well, there is more than meets the eye
Heart like yours is rare to find
Someone else's gain will be my loss
Whoa, whoa, oh, oh
Oh whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, oh
Hey, hey
Well, little things that make you smile
Dancing barefoot in the dark
If only I had strength to change your mind
Oh, for what you need
You will not see
Choose your words before you speak
Can you see that all you've got is time?
Whoa, now
Save yourself
Oh, you save yourself
Oh darling, save yourself for someone else
Yeah, save yourself
Oh darling, save yourself
Oh, won't you save yourself from someone else?
Whoa
Don't give in to their feelings
Don't give in darkness and faith
You should be safe, yeah, with someone else
Tell your secrets to the night
You do yours and I do mine
So we won't have to keep them all inside
Oh, for one so pure
Count these off
Let your feelings take control
Hold on to the world that he's begging for
Whoa, now
Save yourself
Oh, won't you save yourself?
Go on and save yourself for someone else
Yes darling, save yourself
Oh, won't you save yourself?
Go on and save yourself for someone else
Whoa, are you going to break?
Are you going to break?
Whoa, aren't you going to take me?
Yeah, are you going to break?
Oh, are you going to break?
Oh, are you going to break?
Whoa, what's it going to take?
Yeah, are you going to break?
Are you going to break?
Are you going to break?
Are you going to break?
**couldn't find the lyrics in comments and I always have to read the words as I listen, to inflict maximum sadness inside. Figured maybe someone else out there may do the same so here you are.🙂

I've spent fifty years working in Rock radio. I've watched the bastardization and commercialization of a music genre that used to lead and inspire, motivate and uplift. So much lost. And now. This Band. I now reside in a small third world country called Wyoming. I play this band's music daily. Sometimes very loud. The imagery is overwhelming. The musicianship cuts like a hand made knife, to the quick. And the songs wind through my heart like a river with many bends. Dear God..... Please. Let me see this Band live before I die.
