Something pretty cool that I just noticed: The main character drinks a cup of kool-aid that was tipped into his mouth by a man nearby and the dalmatian tells him "You got kool-aid kid, all over your face!" who is mocking the dude for being so easily influenced by a figurehead.

This same method was used in the Jonestown massacre when 918 people died by drinking poisoned kool-aid that was given to them by their cult leader, Jim Jones.

This is most likely a play on how cult-like the corporate world is since a name for hive mind or "cult" mentality is now tied to the slang of "They drank the kool-aid" since they put too much trust into their superiors.

It’s not society’s fault that you were on drugs dear. Addicts love to blame others for their problems instead of taking responsibility and doing what needs to be done to get clean. Call me insensitive but this is reality and we can either get high to try to escape it or improve ourselves and deal with the cards we’ve been dealt. Best thing to do is just avoid drugs in the first place because once addicted it’s incredibly difficult to stop. You say “I cry each night for the bad choices I have made” and then in the next sentence you are saying it’s society’s fault as if you were forced into making said choices to use drugs. Which if that was the case then EVERYONE would be drug addicts. Hope you’re doing better now though!

Btw I am a former drug addict and most days are a struggle, so I can relate, but it was nobodies fault except my own and maybe partially my older siblings. I do agree that mental health resources should be better but there are tons of rehabs/programs/resources etc to help people get sober. It’s really on the individual to put it all into practice. Wish you the best!

the beat switch at 2:25 is masterful.
