EXIT
SWITCH STYLE Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I kick off all the things
around me
and I tear all my clothes off
Pull them out
from my black bed
and I burn them all
A wise man says
same words again,
He's cursing me
I tear my hair with rage and
say"There's something wrong"
"Slow down and ease yourself"
she says Nothings gonna change
whatever you say
So what shall I do?
Don't I change at all?
I don't wanna get down
on my knees
Let out the words
within onto a rusty wall
Let's break away
from the world we live in
Where is the next stage
of this game?
How far is it from here?
All things I got,I need,I want
I'm just running out there
"Slow down and ease yourself"
she says Nothings gonna change
whatever you say
So what shall I do?
Don't I change at all?
I don't wanna get down
on my knees
Turn away and don't come back
when you're lying
Tear up everything and
start again with nothing
Try to forget the past
that's slowly dying
Tear up everything and
start again with nothing

I kick off all the things
around me
and I tear all my clothes off
Pull them out
from my black bed
and I burn them all
A wise man says
same words again,
He's cursing me
I tear my hair with rage and
say"There's something wrong"
"Slow down and ease yourself"
she says Nothings gonna change
whatever you say
So what shall I do?
Don't I change at all?
I don't wanna get down
on my knees
Turn away and don't come back
when you're lying
Tear up everything and
start again with nothing
Try to forget the past
that's slowly dying
Tear up everything and
start again with nothing
Turn away and don't come back
when you're lying
Tear up everything and
start again with nothing
Try to forget the past
that's slowly dying

Tear up everything and
start again with nothing

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "EXIT" by SWITCH STYLE delve into a sense of frustration and a desire for change and renewal. The singer begins by symbolically getting rid of everything around them, including tearing off their clothes and burning them. This act of destruction and shedding of physical possessions represents a sense of starting afresh and breaking away from the current state of being. The mention of a wise man repeating the same words and cursing the singer adds to the feeling of being stuck in a cycle or trapped in a certain mindset that needs to be broken free from.

Despite feeling the need for change and expressing anger at the situation, the singer seems to be conflicted about whether they truly want to change or if they are capable of doing so. The repetition of the lines "Don't I change at all?" and "Nothing's gonna change, whatever you say" reflect this internal struggle and doubt. The singer's refusal to get down on their knees signifies a defiance against submitting or giving up in the face of challenges or adversity.

The repeated lines about tearing everything up and starting again with nothing suggest a theme of rebirth and transformation. The singer is urged to turn away from falsehoods and to let go of the past that is fading away. This process of tearing up everything and starting fresh is portrayed as a necessary step in order to move forward and forge a new path. It signifies a willingness to let go of what is no longer serving a purpose and to embrace the unknown future.

Overall, "EXIT" conveys a sense of liberation, defiance, and a yearning for change. The act of tearing down the old and starting anew is depicted as a challenging yet essential journey towards self-discovery and growth. The lyrics invite reflection on the difficulties of breaking free from stagnation and embracing new beginnings, while also acknowledging the internal struggles and doubts that come with such transformations.

@hyperbolicsuperinternet5219

@Cheeseburger.Launch.Sequence

This is brilliant. Just ordered a copy of the vinyl. For like 5 usd. Sweet teets!

@STraightE

@den-un7yr

Naht, Soon, Bloodthirsty Butchers, Eastern Youth, Cowpers, Kiwiroll

@STraightE

@user-nj7wh2zm6k
