Alongside Ghostie, KiddBeatz, and the late Loboloki, Sybyr is a co-founder of the Anti-World collective—formerly WeirdCLVN and Weird Melodicians—a music collective founded upon social outsiders “expressing abnormality through music,” as Chase explained inside a September 2014 interview with GOLD BUSHIDO. In a September 2018 interview with All Def Music, Sybyr described the concept of Anti-World to be “a place where no fuckery is allowed.”
Sybyr’s clothing preferences and appearance are oftentimes met with backlash due to his defiance of gender norms. Chase can be seen sporting high-heels, lipstick, nail polish, and platform boots inside social media posts—stylistic choices that have been a cemented part of his persona since June 2016.
Sybyr’s discography is extensive, with over fifty bodies-of-work self-released since July 2012. Sybyr would publicly debut as MacXVII, releasing his fully-instrumental record, Space Trips. It would take nearly two years before Chase would experiment with vocals, releasing his loose single, “1449,” in April 2014.
On June 4, 2017, Sybyr was reported missing by many of his associates—he was last seen on June 2, 2017, inside Commerce City, Denver. On June 12, 2017, it was stated that he had been found and was safe. Unbeknownst to fans of the Maryland artist, Chase was spending time inside behavioral facilities and hospitals, which he detailed inside a September 2018 HAM Radio interview with All Def Music
Following Chase’s leave from the psychiatric ward on July 12, 2017, he decided to change his alias from Syringe to Sybhyr, first announced via a Facebook post. Chase later switched his pseudonym to Sybyr on July 16, 2017. Being homonymic with cyber, the Sybyr alias seemingly has roots from Sybyr’s childhood, where he routinely spent time on the internet.

In Sybyr's song "Nextel Ringe," the recurring phrase "Nextel Ringe" represents the sound of a Nextel phone ringing. The song starts by referencing the process of buying and unlocking a phone, indicating a desire to get back to work or be productive. The mention of switching cards suggests a need for flexibility or adaptability, possibly referring to changing SIM cards for different purposes. The line "Not on Google voice you buggin', made that shit for nothing" implies a negative view of relying on Google voice as it doesn't serve the intended purpose. "Break it then it bricks, need a nextel flip" could be a metaphorical reference to a phone breaking and becoming useless, indicating a preference for a Nextel flip phone, possibly alluding to nostalgia or simplicity.
The second paragraph seems to be a reflection on the fragility or vulnerability of a phone. The singer mentions the phone cracking simply by placing it in their pocket, and questions why someone would be watching them. This could imply a sense of suspicion or discomfort with being observed. The reference to socks could be metaphorical, suggesting there's nothing hidden or suspicious in their actions.
The following lines express a sense of individuality and autonomy in personal style. The singer talks about wearing two-tone pants and elevating their fashion game, asserting their freedom to wear what they want regardless of societal norms or expectations. The use of the word "nigga" might be a reclaiming of a racial slur and a declaration of pride and self-identity, emphasizing that one's worth cannot be diminished based on external factors like clothing or appearances.
The fourth paragraph reflects a shift in tone, with the singer expressing an intention to sing and let their emotions flow freely. The repetition of the phrase "I was about to" suggests a missed opportunity or an interruption in their creative process. The line "Gotta make it by yourself, no one paying for your rent" implies a sense of self-reliance and the need to fend for oneself without relying on others for financial support. This could be a reflection on the challenges of pursuing a career in music or the importance of personal independence.
Overall, "Nextel Ringe" seems to touch on themes of technology, individuality, and self-expression. It highlights the desire for productivity, the fragility of possessions, the assertion of personal style, and the challenges of pursuing artistic endeavors independently. The use of repetition and simple phrases creates a hypnotic and introspective atmosphere throughout the song.
