Saber Rebai is a talented singer and composer whose indisputable artistic values have won him the Tunisian audience's full admiration and due respect; an audience internationally reputed for its connoisseur judgment of artistic quality and widely acknowledged as a credible authority whose critical eye world artists duly revere.
A fabulous itinerary was traced by Saber from Sfax (his native city) through Tunis (the Capital) to Lebanon and then Egypt ; such an impressive voyage led him into the heart of the entirety of the Arab people.
Saber' s achievements have not taken place in a void. In fact, he did prepare the necessary means of his success. Saber won the admiration of the Egyptians, thanks to the eloquence of his rendering of defunct Abdelwaheb's songs notable Egyptian singer who still represents a distinguished school of oriental musicology at an era of decline for oriental revelry music. In harmony with such accomplishments, Saber received some awards and reaped certain success in Lebanon and in Cairo , starting then a career leading him to outstanding fame.
Always in quest of originality and variety, Saber Rebai has called a number of poets and composers from all the Arab countries. He never hesitates to introduce new instruments in his orchestra or call up musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds, which fact explains the mystery of his fascinating success also explicable to a large extent by the quality of his potent but tender voice. Thanks to his prestigious & terrific voice, Saber has fostered a nation-wide impression of splendor and admiration of his real aptitude to offer an infinity of vocal modulations reminiscent of the spectacular legacy of such great singers as Mohamed Abdelwaheb , whose song ''Ennil Najach'' dating back to the mid 1930's when Abdelwaheb had an acute and powerful voice and disposed of extraordinary vocal assets. This orientation and taste chosen by Saber will be crucial for his future artistic career. Among his favorite models of oriental singers and musicians there are Wadii Safi, Abdel Halim Hafedth, Karem Mahmoud , and others.
Constantly in quest of satisfying the public, and after a long period of stammering out musical composition as well as some glamorous participations in the national music festivals, Saber has been able to leave the imprints of his fairly successful cumulative experience visible in the surviving songs he composed, such as Assalia or Ommi, the latter being one of the best songs whose musical notes were composed by Saber .
Saber composed the notes of most of his songs, among which the song Kelma has been outstandingly successful and well-known by the following composers: Hilmi Bakr, Salah Al Charnoubi & Dr Abdel Errab Idriss . Likewise, very well renowned artists, such as Sayed Makawi , Warda have flatteringly spoken of Saber 's voice.
On the other hand, the printed press in the Arab world has affirmed that his singing style is genuine and that, from now on, he will be considered super star of the Arab song. In fact, he has never renounced his native style, i.e. Tunisian music, but he has nevertheless experienced singing Egyptian and Arabian songs (from the Gulf countries) in order to win the confidence of all types of audience and guarantee wider renown. Saber realized his dream when he succeeded in the Audition Committee Test in Egypt , including in its panel such famous composers as Hilmi Bakr and Sayed Makawi . The former celebrity announced that Saber 's was the most melodious voice he had ever listened to for twenty years.Saber 's recent fame in Egypt has originated from the publication of his album I go and I return (whose words were written by Imad Hassan & Mohammed Labib ; and its tune composed by Mahmoud Dhia (the latter unceasingly expresses his admiration for Saber 's voice).
His album Hayaruni (They induced me into confusion) has won him further fame. To bring that project to fruition, Saber Rebai has closely collaborated with great names in the realm of writing songs and composing their music. The album comprises the following songs: Hayarouni (They induced me into confusion), Ah Men El Hawa (Oh love), Hom Elli Nesyouna (They did forget me), Ma Entahena (Haven't we finished?), Kelma (Just one word),, Atathakkarak (I do remember you), Hikaya (A story), and Men Gher Helfen (No more promises). The Jordanian director Hussein Daiebiss is the producer of video clips for Saber 's two songs: Hayarooni (They induced me into confusion) and Atathakkarak (I remember you).
After having experienced colossal success in Tunisia in 1996, Saber started his career in the Arab world through his friendship with Mr. Ali Al Mawla ; his manager. They together initiated their way towards Lebanon and later went to the Gulf countries, the United States , Canada and Australia .
Molding new and old melodies interacting in his musical repertoire, Saber seduced his audience to dance and fired them to enthusiasm when he sang Miziana and Barcha. In his song Ya Ommi, rhythm and sensitivity perfectly alternate till the peak of ecstasy. The interlude Sidi Mansour has been the most seducing ever, as this old song derived from the Sfaxian musical legacy has been an unparalleled hit.
In the same way, his recent songs in 2001 comprise the album Khallas Tarak (I quit and see you no more), which has realized no less success than his previous works. This song is well known throughout the Arab world.
Saber 's artistic career has been marked with strong moments. His voice is currently categorized as the greatest, the most sensitive, and the most melodious one. This status has helped him overcome all the obstacles and assert himself as an indisputable star. His talent was first recognized when he participated in big festivals and sang at the Dar El Opera (Opera House) in Egypt . He took part in the international Carthage Festival as well as in Francophone festivals. He keeps on innovating and offering original production showing a high spirit of professionalism. He is now committed to carving a perfect image of himself and his art through enriching his collection of artistic works.
Quite impressively, the rhythm Saber uses in performing the recordings of his albums and in shooting his clips has allowed the whole world to get involved in discovering the artist's talent. He has also sang on numerous stages throughout the world, especially in Korea and Italy , and reaped a number of great awards, especially in Cairo , Dubai and Tunisia. Saber Rebai went in tours across Europe, USA, Australia and also performed in Palestine and South Korea. He gave shows in the most prestigious stage of the world including the Olympia in Paris, Carthage and Cairo..
Saber has successfully continued his search for originality in order to vest his art with a spirit of glory that can benefit both Tunisia and Arab music
