I Don't Want You To Go
Sabrina Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Here I am
Alone and I don′t understand
Exactly how it all began
The dream just walked away

I'm holding on
When all but the passion′s gone
And from the start
Maybe I was tryin' too hard
It's crazy coz it′s breakin′ my heart
Things can fall apart but I know,
That I don't want you to go

And heroes die,
When they ignore the cause inside
But they learn from what′s left behind
And fight for something else

And so it goes
That we have both learned how to grow

And from the start
Maybe we were tryin' too hard
It′s crazy coz it's breakin′ our heart
Things can fall apart but I know,
That I don't want you to go

Oh it's just too much
Takin′ on the whole world all by myself
But it′s not enough
Unless I start trusting somebody else,
Somebody else
And love again

And from the start
Maybe we were tryin' too hard
It′s crazy coz it's breakin′ our hearts
Things can fall apart but I know,
That I don't want you to go, no
Maybe we were tryin′ to hard
It's crazy coz it's breakin′ our hearts
Things can fall apart but I know,
That I don′t want you to go

Oh no, don't want you to go

I'm so good at forgiveness
Cause I found it for you so many times
When I think I've hit my limit
You push a bit further
And I draw the line

I keep waiting, no I'm waiting for the tide to change
But I know I'm the one to blame
Cause I always choose to stay

I should be leaving
You've given millions of reasons
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't
Cause you know you're my weakness
And I should be healing
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't

When I'm almost close to leaving
(To leaving)
You become who I always hope you be
(Who I always hope you be)
But it doesn't last 'til morning
You pull me back into
Our reality

I keep waiting, no I'm waiting for the tide to change
But I know I'm the one to blame
Cause I always choose to stay

I should be leaving
You've given millions of reasons
(But you know I don't)
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't
Cause you know you're my weakness
And I should be healing
(But you know I don't)
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't

You're runnin' out of answers
And I'm out of second chances
But I give you another if you say you tried
No I know that the truth is
Tryna change a man is useless
And I know

I should be leaving
You've given millions of reasons
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't
Cause you know you're my weakness
And I should be healing
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't

But you know I don't
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't
But you know I don't
But I don't, no I don't, no I don't, no I don't

Literally saying goodbye to someone on your own terms is the most powerful but difficult thing to do. Leaving someone I moved my whole life to another city for was a huge reminder that I know my worth and will not settle. Periodt. Keep your heads up folks!
