A daughter of musicians, it's not a surprise music is such a big part of Sally's life. She recorded her first demo in a trailer in Lafayette, IN. "That’s not the funny part," says Sally. "The first time I played my demo for a big time producer, who will remain nameless, he fell asleep halfway through. That was awkward!" Don't worry, Sally told us she came away from that experience laughing, not crying.
In co-founding what is now the 5th largest indie label in the US,. Sally made the brazen decision to turn down multiple major record deals in order to control her music and vision. That vision along with thought provoking songs like “Villain”, “So Long”, “Today Is Not Tomorrow” and “I Could Be Great”, has made a huge impact in the lives of Anthony’s fans. In addition, Anthony has proven she isn’t a one trick pony, as her music is played across multiple radio formats including, Alternative, Top 40, Triple A and Hot AC.
Sally's inspirations include: Ani Difranco, Eminem, Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson, Bob Seger, Dr Catherine Hamlin, Ruth Bell Graham, Kate Winslett and Drew Barrymore.

Don't think I'll live a life of keeping score
I know there's something more to life
I'm sure, no, I won't be your villain anymore, anymore
I played my part, I tried to do your way
But now it's time for me to just do me
You see, I don't want to haunt you or be selfish
But I can't be your villain, baby
I'm am not your prisoner
No, you just have to let me go now
And let me be
Who I see in me, yeh
In Sally Anthony's song "Villain," the lyrics express a sense of liberation and empowerment as the singer declares that they will no longer be the "villain" in someone else's story. The song reflects a realization that life is more than just keeping score and trying to please others. The first verse speaks to a breaking point of no longer wanting to play a role that is not true to oneself, as the singer desires to live a life with purpose, free from the burden of being someone's antagonist.
The second verse continues with the theme of independence and self-discovery as the singer claims their right to be free from any situation or person that may have been holding them back. The use of the metaphor of being a prisoner emphasizes the need for release from a relationship or circumstance that no longer serves a positive purpose in their life. The final line, "Who I see in me," is a powerful statement of the importance of self-reflection and embracing one's own identity.
Overall, the song encourages the listener to break free from the expectations and limitations that may have been imposed upon them by others and to embrace their true selves. It is a declaration of independence and a call to action for individuals to reassess their lives and step into their own power.
